Folks, which is the longest track for GTR 2 and Is it in the download section?

SchottenRing67 is crashing after clicking start to proceed on the loading screen, it crashes and brings me back to desktop.

What's wrong?

It could be anything, including a car.

Run a trace.

To set up a trace file:

Right click on your Desktop Icon, and choose PROPERTIES.

In the TARGET box after .exe (leave a space) then add -trace=1000

Next time you get a CTD, go to your Userdata folder and in the LOG folder there will be a trace.txt file.

The problem is usually at the bottom in the last few lines

That reads like you have installed an incomplete package - have you tried a new download/install?

No he's downloaded the GTL version, and he needs to update the TRK file...
The game is looking for a MASfile called skies_central.GTL

BTW.. the longest track ever made for GTR2 is Isle of Man...or whatever its called..

Veering a bit for...I've tried to set the trace on both my GTR2 and GTL shortcuts, but get a message saying that "the name 'F:\GTR2\GTR2 v1.1 AI modded\GTR2.exe -trace=1000' is not valid" and to dbl-check the path, etc. This is the same launcher I use ordinarily with zero issues every time.

Any ideas here?

Perhaps the target name is too long. Not really sure. Try moving your GTR2 folder to the root of your drive and rename it. Something like this: 'F:\GTR2_AI mod\GTR2.exe -trace=1000' That should work.

Jim Pearson has gave no one permission to do anything unless that is changed in the last 6 weeks.

He would never ever allow Isle of man revised to be converted he gave in last time and let a crew do Isle of Man for Nascar . omfg look how that turned out !

GTR2 version had permissions and it was released here but it was "nuked" so to speak, and the converter had a semi meltdown over the criticism leveled at him for releasing a version that wouldn't work. AFAIK the creators have given full permission to release a GTR2 version, it's up to the converter now. Whether Kimi ever releases it...who knows. Perhaps Zwiss, Neel, or Khan could step to the challenge.

Oh and Pearson has said he is willing to give permissions, he simply wants final approval of the conversion, be it Dundrod, or the released IOM. (which btw is an abbreviated fantasy version) I'm hopeful he'll release the full IOM for GPL soon. (Soon in GPL time at least, which means maybe a year or two from now.

Note the double quotes around path and exe name. Spaces in paths can be poison sometimes, and you can overcome that by using doublequotes.

Sorry, I do not have it... any more. Even though it was not legit and not to real life scale, it was the longest track that I can recall.
Nor was I offering to find or share it...I was just responding to the title of this thread. IOM was/is still the longest track for GTR2, legit or not(full stop)

All I'm gonna say on the subject is this... Google is a great search engine.

As for not being able to connect to the lobby, the domain expired on April 14th, the work around is to open your LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT found in your root GTR2 folder and replace gtr2server2.gtr-evolution.com with 81.3.59.239. Then you can connect to the lobby.

The conversion by Keni of the Targa Florio wasn't even that good... As soon as you leave the pits you're greeted by a flying marshal.

Neel Jani's conversion to GTL is far superior.

You should try Brno 1965. That's a real good one. It is not the longest, but it's a joy to memorize.
Also try Machwerk 1967 and Charade 1970.

Tkrau Join Date: Jun 2011 Location: Central California	Veering a bit for...I've tried to set the trace on both my GTR2 and GTL shortcuts, but get a message saying that "the name 'F:\GTR2\GTR2 v1.1 AI modded\GTR2.exe -trace=1000' is not valid" and to dbl-check the path, etc. This is the same launcher I use ordinarily with zero issues every time. Any ideas here?
