I see this is attracing a lot of interest here

There's already snippets of information coming out about this and I'm willing to bet there will be a lot more interest come Friday

Yep, had to go into Google cache to find the info', but:
  • Laser scanned tracks
  • The highly acclaimed ForceFeedback feeling of netKar Pro and Ferrari Virtual Academy is rewritten from the ground up and greatly improved
  • AC will combine the highest level of realism with official licensed cars and tracks, developed in partnership with racing circuits and car manufacturers, in order to represent one of the most realistic driving experience on the Windows PC platform
  • AC is conceived to be moddable from the ground up, permitting the sim community to express its high skill and talent by creating new cars, tracks and even full blown total mods
  • Our devblog will not be used to create hype but just to show everybody that we are a passionate small team that works on what we love most; simracing

Also found a couple of screenshots in Google cache, but apparently the devs don't want people posting them as some deals are yet to be done. Jeez I'm excited though

Kunos does some mighty fine work. Some of his older stuff here. If you can sync these for a bit you can see he does a good job and it feels good to use this sim.
i would love to have bikes and cars. Whats the big deal?

Kunos always goes on about the lack of decent controllers with regards to bikes. Personally I think a 360 pad is good enough. IIRC in the video you posted (which's a v.early demo on a namie track btw ) the guy's using a G25, although I found that tricky myself.

I'm excited for the simracing community in 2012. There doesn't appear to be any shortage of products in the pipeline. Looks like it's going to be a great year.
Based on the overall quality of NKP and barring a step backward...(which I don't envision) this should be great. All I'm asking for is more immersive sound. That was the one great failing of NKP. It always sounded too 'clinical'. I still absolutely hate the bottoming sound. It was horrible.

From the trailer: "Improved sample based sound engine (brooOOOmm!)" I agree on the bottoming sound (as do a lot of other people). That was changed in 1.3b iirc, just use one from the previous version.

Is the old sound available anywhere? The new sound is like someone kicking a tin can down an alleyway.

Right click here & save as then replace the sound in c:\nkpro13\sfx.

P.S. that's not my site, it's a community site someone started then gave up on

Holy crap- laser scanned tracks, lots of cars, moddable, offline against AI, online etc etc. Wow- if this turns out to be true, maybe I've been watching the wrong two games (GTR3 and rF2) and I should keep my eyes peeled for this one!

That in itself is the big punch!

But...adding AI adds a whole new dimension of difficulties to development. It will require a LOT of time to develop and probably to support it.

It says the physics will be like NetKar X10!!!!

Here is me thinking which is going to be best out of GTR3, rFactor 2 and CARS........and low!!!! The answer reveals itself to be a new sim from Kunos!!

SIMBIN, ISI and SMS.............be afraid, be very afraid!!!!

as far as I know LfS AI uses the same physics assets then human car.

most sims use much simplified model... that's why it's so hard to match accelerating, braking distances and so on.

now LfS AI just need to learn to drive

Just few notes about videos you see. This is obviously just a work in progress version, so what you see is just what they have in the current stage of development. A lot of the things you see are not completed. Sounds, for example, are just place holders. Same for some of the effects on the lights/shadows, and so on and so on. Take those videos as a preview, and not of course of the final result.

Stefano Casillo ‏@KunosStefano
4 days of hard working on the triple screen support gave good results. Marco is taking the victory shots.. I've earned my beer for tonight.

I think a 680 should easily manage 60fps (render each screen seperately).

Ya we have time of the day from morning to evening, no nights for now.

I hope it gets 'online AI'.

That way, another game is open: see who can kill the most of them.

We're terribly sorry to announce that the development of Assetto Corsa will be delayed because of the implementation of the turbo and the Lotus 98T... The dev team is very busy, setting lap times, crashing hard everywhere and generally having a great time. Sorry guys, we're working hard to make it perfect.
