As season 4 draws to a close in a few weeks it is time to start discussing plans for season 5. What mod should we use? Any revisions to be made on points or success ballast? What tracks would you like to see included? Race format? Etc

No more Porsche please
I'm not sure I will be participating in the races anyway due to 'real life' commitments but driving the current mod kills any motivation for me to even try.

?It's a half joke actually; Races are much closer when all of us drive the same underpowered car. But on another hand it's incredibly difficult to grab your opponent who is only 2 seconds in front of you... I think the GT1 car we have so far is ok; Maybe we could have a bit longer races, but anything will do! |

I was thinking maybe WTCC/BTCC, for something rather different, and for ultimate racing?
Otherwise - can't go wrong with GTE or GT3 |

I like the WTCC/BTCC idea, or V8's?
One track a like with these cars is Toban. I just saw GT1 and GT3 races at Navarra. I think it's a great track for online racing. But I don't think it's out for GTR2. |

I think Touring Cars (WTCC/BTCC) could be really good too. But i don't really mind personally, as long as the cars handle well and are easy to set up... that is what closes up the racing, imo.
Just a couple of tracks i like, off the top of my head: Road Atlanta Mid Ohio Le Mans Mugello Oulton Park Nurburgring 2001 Algarve Tsukuba Jerez Croft Knockhill Salzburgring Snetterton (old layout) Spa Zuhai Hopefully some ok ideas in that massive list

WTCC could be a nice add, just make sure we have an Alfa and a few BMW's at least.

I don't know - they are challenging to drive, the front wheel drives, but very fun - and the BMW's and co are always there for RWD lovers. But the thing is - you can go over curbs, get on throttle early, use all of the track and race really hard!
WTCC 2006 mod, as there are a few more cars, And give the tracks a BTCC feel Donington Knockhill Brands Hatch Indy Oulton Plus some WTCC style tracks Valencia Pau? AI is bad for offline, but it drives brilliantly! Online could be amazing!!! Barcelona National Hockenheim National Monza! That would be my proposal at this stage! |

Hi again guys,
personally i would like to try some open-wheelers if possible.Formula 1 would be good of course,if there is a good mod out there.I know open-wheels is not very suitable for GTR2. GT,WTCC,BTCC and touring cars they are similar and i think have been raced many times.Only ones i would be interested in is Super GT,and as up to date as possible. Otherwise,go with some prototype,LM cars etc. |

Please no WTCC or BTCC. Don't like them at all.
GT's, nGT's, GT3's, proto's are ok. Open-wheeler's are a problem since they are so fast and fragile. Also I don't have the time to do all the laps that they require. Our current porsche mod is great in that aspect.... just join the server and drive. On most race's I have done just some laps before the race and it's good fun. On F1 or Lola or any other open-wheel mod that is not possible.Proto's are also car's that need lot of time so they are not my favorite car's. GT's and slower cars are better for tight race's. For race format the combination of 1 hour race's and some sprint race's is great. See you guys next week. |

Yeah maybe it's proto time?
LMP2's or something? ALMS mod is a bit faster than the actual cars, but good graphics, sounds and well made mod. I'm sure we could find some proto's that run the same times - or use one car and make sort of an Formula Le Mans / LMPC championship? And we could a mix of the real ELMS/ALMS/WEC tracks from this year and last. |

I know from experience that open wheelers are best left to Rfactor so i am counting them out.
The only touring cars i could see us using are the V8 Supercars tbh, as the Race 07 series cover tin tops again much better than mods for GTR2. I think prototypes are a strong possibility. |

I'm going to do a bit of testing with the ALMS mod - which I think is what we should go for.
I'll throw it out there and say LMP2 is what we should run? I'll test every car @ Magny-Cours for a while and see how close they are because I believe this will be more fun to have a few cars to choose from. As some people (like me) prefer some cars for fun even though they are slower. What do you guys think? I'm fairly sure proto's is a great choice and something very challenging and different for the league - I rekon we'll get plenty of new racers too. |

hmmm they're all a bit different on lap times I think, close, but enough - but it's SUCH a good mod!
Maybe someone with more experience at testing the differences could have a go? The original prototype mod is out of the question due to the excessive tyre wear for one, and the general lack of balance of performance in them all. |

I seem to remember Truetom mentioning that UKGTR have a prototype mod set up, balanced and bug tested. Maybe we could ask them if we can use it too?
Or NAGP have a good ALMS mod which we could enquire about. |

My 2 cents on an LMP mod, my experience with the AMLS NAGP mod was good when i last raced it about 14 months back... good default setups and generally very drivable cars with decent handling. But all the cars are different - so would you let everyone just pick what car they want, or have allocated cars? Cause this sort of thing can be a point of contention...

Indeed, if we do go for an unbalanced or "not quite perfectly" balanced mod - it's something we definitely need to discuss.

The way i see it as soon as we move away from a single make championship there should be differences between the cars, that is what makes it fun! I liked that when i drove the MC12 and we got to Vitus Park Gp i knew i had the strongest car, but that on other tracks the MC12 was pretty awful and my back was to the wall.
If all the cars are "balanced" what is the point of having difference makes and models? As long as the performance gap is not more than around 1 sec per lap i think its ok - after all the faster drivers don't need to pick the fastest car all the time... |

I am ok with not balanced cars in all aspects of performance. In different tracks cars would be stronger than others.Thats normal, but too much gap in laptimes might be an issue.
Also different fuel consumption and tyre wear, engine performance etc..These are factors that can make the cars different from each other, with strong and weak points. So if we choose a variety of tracks with different characteristics,we will have a championship that is almost balanced whatever the car. |

I think there is no problem with using a mod with unequal cars, but imo ideally guys would sign up and have to stick to their choice - would make it more interesting round-to-round then.

If it's protos it's not goin to be easy for me. No time to do any laps during the week and don't think that protos are as easy as porsche cup was...... jump in and drive wont work.

Damn... I'm too dim-witted to drive protos.
So first laps done just now and I realy have lot's and lot's of work to do on my driving. The problem is that don't have the time to do the laps it would take. Are Ginetta-Zytek and Zytek car's mostly the same?? If so then I would be very very happy if someone who drives Zytek would team up whit me. I'm no expert on setups and I think that on these car's you realy need to do some setups to get the most out of the car. So does anyone want to team up whit me?? ![]() Porsche Cup was great in that aspect.... just jump in and drive. |

Hi
Just a couple of questions... 1) Is there going to a online server to practice on, and check for matching files, so any mismatch can be fixed before the race? 2) We do have a sponsored livery for our car, is it possible to get it in for the season? That would be very much appreciated ![]() Thanks. |

Hi guys, made some laps with the mod.
These are obviously harder cars to drive.Partly because the aero balance is important and you have to setup for it.Also speed is much greater, needing more precision on braking, and the cars have enough power to snap oversteer on throttle. Without aids it will be hard for me for example. But the hardest part is the setup. They have many more settings, and you need to adjust a lot to the track. It is similar to open wheel racing i could say, there is a lot of complexity in these protos requiring many laps and experience in setup for every track. With GTs you could a find a good setup that would be fine for 80% of the tracks. I think there will be quite big gaps in the pace of drivers due to that, although this new season seems to have very good and experienced drivers. Also,do we have any info on tyres?Do they all have the same? The skins have different tyres, are they real or just the different graphic? What about aero and downforce levels?Any1 with knowledge to check the game files?( Berger??) Dont know if i will participate yet, maybe from second race. Cheers |

hi quake,
i do not know the cars (mod.) which jayblue do make this season, big download this is. but often in showroom the tyres are not correct. to see which tyres the car have, you have to look in Gamedata/Team/then undername?? perhaps prototype or whatever?/then name of car, perhaps Audi (example only, i do not know mod.) then open this folder with carname. here is a file called .hdc scroll slow down and then you see TYREBRAND: ..........here you can read the name of tyre. here many other things are too for watch, test it. if only 1 .hdc file in a carnamefolder? then the cars should be equal in tyres, engine, aerodynamic things. more .hdc files and .eng and .tyr files, then you have to read more and it is not so easy, but my english is way to limited to explain and my knowledge in this things too ![]() i am a driver, not a programmer or physic change man. servus |

The cars are all different so i expect the tyres will be too. But knowing this mod it should all still be fairly even overall, perhaps with some small variation track to track. My advice, just pick the car you like the handling of best, so you can actually push the thing...

GT's : 70% driver, 30% car/setup
LMP's: 40% driver, 60% car/setup Which explains why the cars feel easier to drive to the limit. Most likely though, if it feels easy, that is not really the limit of the car at all. |

As long as i get some good racing with these cars i am not really concerned with my finishing position.I don't really have the motivation to test all the cars and develop excellent setups so i will just race to enjoy it and learn as the season progresses.
