My issue is now sorted. I've restarted everything again.

It runs like a dream and is sooo much fun.

Thank you for the help gents. Good luck with getting it all sorted.

Many thanks to the Team for producing this MOD. It's bound to be taking up an inordinate amount of my spare time.

I run XP Pro. As some have noted, it appears that the Alfa is a killer. Not a CTD with my unit but a total lockup requiring a hard boot. On returning to the game, I couldn't de-select to another marque. The only solution to get the sim to run again was to temporarily remove the Alfa folder from the 'Vehicles' folder altogether!

Thanks for the compliments axel

What about some racing together with nogrip people (and everybody else is welcome too) on wednesday evening?
I set up a server 3 hours ago but as expected, no racing took place because of the classic rf dark circle. When nobody is in the game, nobody joins and just sits in chatroom.

I have probably all the old tracks.
I could race from 8pm gmt+1. Thats 7pm in uk. Almost until morning so it would be evening in us :p

William Levesque here, I went on the server earlier

I went halfway through but unfortunately I had to go eat and it kinda messed up my concentration and so I wrecked in a A.I. backmarker...

I have to say, you gotta push the Alfa VERY hard to keep up with the Germans ! I was driving the wheels off the thing !

Im up for a race....
What GMT time Wednesday?
Is there any chance of adding another classic track or 2 to Rouen'55?
I find Rouen [I should have said Reims] a little boring yet enjoy for the history anyway....
Something with a bit more distance & a few more corners would make it sweet-maybe a best of 3 or something
Classic cars & classic tracks-what an awesome combination!
BTW-Thanks big time to ALL the guys from Team Vintage!

[EDIT] Just remembered It's Reims not Rouen that I find a little boring- Im ALWAYS getting those 2 names mixed up.
I actually quite like Rouen-Luvly textures to say the least!
D'oh!

Well, I could only do one race, but it was fun

Trying to slow down for the hairpin at Rouen going dowhill while turning left, counter lock is amazing !

Of course, using 900deg of rotation, 24 steering lock and H-Shifter + Grinding Tranny

Thank you vondutch51!
Ive actully been looking for that for a while, maybe I should start browsing with Goggle again....
Can anybody tell me what track it is in that background clip (which Ive seen elsewhere in the past) where the cars are blasting through the columns please?
I'd be very interested to read about the history of something THAT crazy!

I've managed to get all the cars working on my Xp computer now and I must say that my predition of it being an epic mod were right.

I swaped out the above Gen file and also swapped the vehicles files for the alternertive ones in the Zip file inside the mod file. I'm not entirely sure if this was the soulution though as all the cars seem to run fine on all tracks EXCEPT Brooklands, which I still get a CTD on (I tried to load Brooklands with the Merc SSK mod as well which worked prior to installing the new mod and Still got a CTD) So it may possibly be a problem with the track rather then the mod itself, which would make sense since most people including me would most likely try to run these cars on Brooklands first. (I must admit I didn't check if there were any changes to the track in the mod) I'll reinstall the old standalone version tommorow and try again.

Never had an issue with Brooklands so far. Maybe a problem with the size of the grid?
Anyway, I love it, the Mercedes is almost undrivable for me, but I don't blame the physics, I think it might be not suitable for my DS3. Sound is way too epic by the way.

Just been a philistine and raced the ERA against a full GP grid on Silverstone Classic layout. They suit the modern circuit quite well to be fair. Drifiting and powering through Club and Abbey.

The AI is pretty good too as I kept with a Maserati for over half of the 20 minute race.

Not driven anything else since!

I started another thread about Brooklands, but I can't get it to work either - never could. Tried it with different mods, grid sizes, graphics settings, dx versions, just about everything I could think of. Trace keeps returning an error with opening the SCN file. Occasionslly I get an error box pop up saying the HORIZON.GMT file couldnt load. Checked everything for spelling errors. I thouoght the problem could be with the sky file and I even tried swapping it with a sky file from another track. Still no go.

I even tried v1 of the track and still the same probem.

Hasn't been a big problem before because there weren't many mods to run on this circuit. Now that we have the 37 mod though I really wish I could get it to run.

Brilliant work. Thanks so much for releasing this mod. The sounds are amazing and the cars are so beautiful. I initially installed this in my regular rFactor folder, then installed it in a stand alone and used all the included RealFeel settings. Those were great and reallyt transformed the feel of the cars.
How do I remove the loading graphics I have now in my regular rFactor install to go back to what it was? Thank you in advance!

You must download realfeel (and only latest version 0.936). After that copy over provided realfeelplugin.ini from vehicles folder to get good settings

Finally have this more or less sorted out. Brooklands is working, FFB is working, and I can load all the Alfas. Just can't see their front wheels in cockpit view. Front wheels are visable on all the other cars. Bummer about this is the Alfa is the easiest to drive of the big GP cars.

Kinda getting bored with it all.

Don't get bored with it - it is a blast to drive. Even if you by-pass the "big" cars and just drive the Voiturettes, it is a total blast and worth any amout of screwing around with to make work. I wish that someone would start painting cars so we could race Voiturettes with a large field. I know that would not be historically accurate but...

At any rate, stick with it. I can't see my Alfa front wheels either - but I drive the ERA mostly.

Thanks for the encouragement Frapp. I do enjoy the mod immensly. Just wish I could see the bloody front wheels on the Alfa, which is my favorite car from this era. This kind of reminds me of the old board track mod for NASCAR Heat, which was one of my favorites. I'd love to see some more period correct circuits. I suppose I need to give the ERA or Maser a spin. Problems aside this is a very well done mod and the creators are to be congratulated.

How tall are you, Georgeo? All of 5'2"?

You CAN see those front wheels if you raise your POV sufficiently. Dick Seaman was rather tall & lanky, iirc. Just imagine yourself as standing 6'4".

Well, you could leave out add-on cars from the original classes and give them an own add-on one. So fantasy skins wouldn't mix with existing ones.

Love the ERA too by the way, since I'm driving with a pad, it's the most comfortable to use.

There should be a line inside your user.plr, saying Wheels Visible In Cockpit="0". Try changing to 1, see if that works.

All the cars definitely have FrontWheelsInCockpit set to 1 in mod files so try changing what pau pau suggests and/or try moving seat position upwards / backwards.
