I don't think there ever was a digital version of GTR2. It was expected from SIMBIN to release such a version (there was/is demand) but, for unknown reasons, it never happened.

You may find the odd CD/DVD original copy available in the bargain bin of some local shop, but it's extremely rare now.
It's through online-retailers where you'll find this cheaper and available in bigger numbers. In most cases these ship worldwide (shipping costs may or not be included depending on seller), and you'll be able to pay with Paypal, Credit-Card, etc.
Beware of overpriced copies (especially in the case of the "G.O.T.Y." edition), the games are now extremely hard to find but it's silly to incentive purchasing copies from opportunist sellers.

Here's a personal note: used copies are also a great solution.
People think buying used games is a wrong aproach, and that there will be problems when time comes to play GTR2 online (and P&G too). So long as the used copy of GTR2 works fine, this should NOT be a problem.
In the worst scenario, you can get a serial-key to play online (logged in the SIMBIN lobby) with your used copy, for FREE, with just a valid e-mail register being required on certain websites (NOTE: not sure how long these nice promotions will last).

Here's one of those websites:

Searching for GTR2 copies online, this is what came up:

GTR2

There's also the "G.O.T.Y." edition, the last one released for sale (late 2007) where both GTR2 and GTL are sold in one pack (two separate games on one single box):

GTR2 - GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION:

Hope it helps!

You can get a digital GTRē from RaceRoom, minus Ferrari's and Porsches. I suggest you find your disk!

That only goes for GT-Legends, not GTR2 (as far as I know).
It's one of the things that at GTLW we were hoping SIMBIN would solve for GTR2 (been years now) like they did for GTL, as it would help new coming users without the game with interest in P&G.

Here's the link for it in RR:

Or you could do the same thing people do with other titles that for some reason was not continued to be sold of the producer. Like the NR2003.

The carlist is at the link you posted DucFreak, no Ferrari's, but there are Porsches. And its not compatible with the original GTRē MP

Oh, I'm not discussing that, we can all see it. (the Ferraris are missing due to licensing constraints, and versions would mismatch online due to that)

My point is that the Digital version of GTR2 has not been made available to the public (yet) due to unknown reasons. Have you noted that it's been there for ages but it's the only SimBin game that hasn't a "BUY NOW" sticker/label?
AFAIK you can't "ask" for a digital version in certain terms -like you can for GTL- as you pointed neither, as GTR2 seems to have legal proprietary/publishing rights issues still involved after all these years. But with nothing confirmed we can only speculate the "if's", the "why's" and the outcome on that.

Solution is to find and purchase either the rare new copy, or an used copy (which works just as well).

I found a shrink-wrapped GTR2 on ebay (some Italian guy) for about 12 euros, a couple of weeks ago.
I was looking all over the interwebs for a digital version, but none seems to be available.
Best bet, is to find a retail copy (as I did) on ebay or amazon...
