Yes, www.gtr3.com is up since yesterday. Very nice to hear something real about the game and a developer on the raceroom forum says that soon more is to come.

I'm excited after hearing that. Finally sound has a much more important role in a game/sim. Finally! Looking forward to December 15th aswell.

Forget it, no need for automobiles, horses are already perfect.
![]() GTR2 & GTL may be great games but they're really showing their age now. Not just graphically but also in physics and modelling. It's been over half a decade, time for something new. |

I want to race horses! All I need is a horse saddle with full force feedback.

Ah some people expect so much, it's the law of diminishing values, compare Revs on the BBC to Indycar Racing for example, the difference is huge but if GTR3 comes out, it simply won't be possible to replicate such a gap. Essentially current graphics can't improve that much, a tree can only look like a tree to a certain extent and in most current racing sims trees already look like trees.

And of course the most important part of any race sim, the simulation.
GTL has no weather other than Sunny/Cloudy compare that to rF2s new tyres and tracks or even iRacing. There is still huge improvements to made. I know many will disagree with me, but I found the Race series to feel much more like driving a real car than GTR2. Better, more detailed force feedback and improved tyres and suspension. New games like netkar pro and Asseto Corsa and even better again. They all have improvements to make, as computers get more powerful we can computer more data and get closer to real. Why stop when we can advance? Bring on GTR3! |

Yes, I think a lot comes down to personal preference and opinion but like you guys say, as computers get more powerful, there will always be tweaks and improvements to be made.
One thing's for sure I'll be first in line when GTR3 comes out. |

A member of Simbin has said over at Raceroom that news is on it's way.
Simbin have a habit of doing things their way, but have no fear GTR3 and their other project are still very much in the works .

Simbin need to jump on this soon I think. Its not 2008 anymore, 2012 - 13 is so saturated with next gen sims now, iracing, RF2, CARS, Assetto Corsa, and they are even coming with their own high quality licensed GT content that it hard to imagine where GTR3 will fit in if they don't get something out soon..
GT Legends and GTR2 were amazing, but people aren't going wait around on the strength of those past glories with all the options of this new, very different landscape. It felt like they fell off the pace pushing out all those GTR2>Evo>Race etc expansions and are now playing catch up. just my 2p.. |

Quite befitting. I just got an ST1100 that I am all over fixing up, getting dirty and riding it. Alot. The shift from indoor sport to outdoor sport should be observed and respected. Especially here in artic Wisconsin, enjoying record triple digit heat. So let us ride are real steeds full of great audio and real performance. I would actually hope its in my paws at Christmas. The peaking of sim racing season. Just as long as they or somebody gets Road America right on a warm sunny day. It would be worth the wait. Back out on my bike. Just came across this (terrible) video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CAoFEG2OME
0:26 mark looks like the P4/5 and an Aston Martin at Nurburgring? At the 1:13 mark you can see that tunnel from the Aquila screenshots too. Stop the video after that if you don't want to punch your monitor due to the guys driving.. |

Moore's Law will completely end in less than ten years (an outside chance that it could exist in some form for up to 15 years). In fact, it's already slowed down considerably in the past few years. The growth of processing power will plateau unless new techniques are developed as the physical laws have just about reached their limits with silicon. So the word 'tweaks' is likely correct. But the leaps and bounds that we've all experience in our lifetimes isn't likely to happen again unless a new form of computing is developed that is affordable on a mass-scale (quantum computing?). |

Thought I should briefly mention here (off-topic):
Moore's law is only delayed briefly during the transition to alternative materials for processors. Graphite technology with zero resistance has recently been discovered, while Quantum computers are already being developed. My Dad did research on molecular-level logic gates using Liquid-Crystals (to produce the 0s & 1s). Currently even the smallest silicon logic gate has approx 10^20 atoms. Molecular processors will be at least 10,000,000,000,000 times faster than silicon. This isn't science fiction - this stuff is in development right now. We have simply reached the maximum capability of silicon chips. Computing power is set to sky-rocket within the next 20years. |

On the subject of GTR3, please please please Simbin, include some sort of real series, even if it's only at a national level, rather than FIA. Don't make another GTR Evo. |

It would be cool if they could do it like the old TOCA Touring Cars games, with a couple of simple, real one make series as a bonus or something.

The RaceRoom news pages have a lot of interesting real world racing coverage (ADAC GT Masters and VLN) and they're sponsoring some cars too (Corvette and Audi). Not sure how their affiliation with SimBin works exactly but it seems like we might be in store for something cool but who really knows with their slow trickle of news.

Is there anything happening with GTR3?
The website www.gtr3.com was exciting the first day, but when was that released? A year ago? Maybe some stills or maybe even a demo would be appreciated. |

Sure looks like a Commodore, they've got Bathurst, it would make sense to have the V8s to race there.

For those in the UK, PC Gamer magazine is supposed to have a preview of GTR3 in the October Issue, it's out on the 29th of August. Hopefully it'll answer some questions.
Last edited by Heidfeld; 10 August 12 at 08:21. Reason: D'Oh! It will of course be the October issue as magazines work a month in advance. |

Hm I just downloaded the September issue with World of Warplanes on the cover, didn't see it mentioned in the index or cover and skimmed through it but don't see anything about GTR 3 in it? Maybe next months issue?
edit: ah ya it's next months.. October I guess? Magazine months confuse me =P Last edited by USteppin; 10 August 12 at 15:25. |

I have given up waiting. It seems to be dead as a door knob. If they ever release it I will definitely buy it, even if remotely comparable to GTR2. Other options are showing up in the market, but after trying Race Room, I am not impressed. I hope the resources going into RR are not misplaced.

Simbin is a joke now. R3E is ok, but not enough to keep me interested, and you're probably right, hmaia. GTR3 is as good as vaporware.
