When I finally complete a whole timed lap in an F1 without crashing, I'll post it

Uh I vaguely remember I did some 25.x in january but I don't get how.
Now I tried it again and its SO DAMN hard to drive I don't like it. Feels like the car has no inertia or weight, one tiniest mistake and you're dead... |

I completely agree with you, I think it's way too hard to drive the 60's F1s, GPL was way easier and I never thought I'd say that about a game!!lol But rF2's 60's F1s are unrealistic in my opinion, thank god for GPL!!

I find the F1 cars to be easier around Monaco than Spa. It took my like 10 tries to even do one lap at Spa at first.

If you're driving on the limit, imo, SPA is more straight forward, once you've got it it's a lot easier to be consistently fast at SPA whereas at Monaco every lap is hell to try and simply keep the car on the track. This goes to show that maybe rf2 has a lot to improve before going final.

![]() I find rF2s F1s, particularly the Brabham to be some of the easiest and most sensible simcars to drive, so long as I keep my right foot under control and watch out for locking a tyre into a turn they're a dream to drive. Many rF1/GTR2 cars always spin out on me for no apparent reason, with rF2 I feel much more slip in the tyres before they go. For me GPL never felt like driving a real car at all (and damn near impossible for that matter) rF2 seems much closer (excluding the very unfinished Nissans and Renaults) the good force feedback helps too. Edit: I'll have to check my lap times around Monaco but I think most of my laps around there are in the F2s... Last edited by Copyright; 6 July 12 at 00:14. |

These old cars required the most body feeling, which we don't have in a game, the modern cars drive more like computergames...

I agree that GPL is easier to drive, not sure if that's more or less realistic though... |

With 100% damage such tapping the walls usually means end of the race anyway though..

![]() That said I maintain that GPL is not only easier on the limit but it also felt more like real life to me, what little feedback I get from it tells me it's closer to the real thing somehow, I 'feel' the weight of the cars a lot better in GPL than in rF2, in rF2 I always have the sensation that I'm driving on ice even on dry tarmac. |
