Actually Kers & DRS are fine. I don't like the way in which DRS is implimented. Everybody should be able to use DRS anywhere; leading, following, whatever. No DRS zones - open season anywhere on the track. I think that would make it much more level and interesting.

The complaints about pay drivers irk me sometimes because I feel that some drivers, even those with evident talent, are being cheaply dismissed as pay drivers as a lazy attack on modern motor sport as a whole. One poster complained that Jim Clark would only be accepted today if he brought sponsorship, yet history has shown that even some of the great drivers of the past also relied on sponsorship cash to break into the sport - as a quick example, Lauda, a three time F1 WDC winner, was a pay driver at the beginning of his career. |

Schumacher paid to get a Jordan drive in '91, look how that turned out.
The problem is when you have drivers that seem out of their depth. Milka Duno is the best example I can think of, I believe record holder for the longest Indycar career without a top 10 finish. |

Drag racing is the most boring for sure. I can stand NASCAR before I can watch drag racing. Going to either is a different story but sitting on the couch watching drag racing is about as entertaining as sitting on the couch counting each strand of my arm hair.
I also find motorcross/supercross very boring, I can't even really get into any two wheeled racing, I like watching replays of close battles but I can't just sit and watch an entire race. |

Question: What bores you about motorsport?
Answer: Any 'motorized' vehicle without a drop of fuel in the tank... ...

TV does tend to make some motorsports seem flat and unexciting. I've seen lots of drag racing in person. I've seen dirt circle track racing in person. Mostly Pro-Stock and Sprints as I recall. I grew up listening to them every sunday in the summer back in New Jersey. I saw atleast 10 races or so. My favorite of all is my local event the Coronado Speed Festival. I've seen some dirt bikes and BMX(admittedly not motorsport).
I can't really say for certain what I think is the most boring motorsport. Generally speaking I like all forms of motorsport to some degree, because I'm a absolute fuel injected motorhead. But as far as watching motorsports on TV, I'd have to say motorbike racing is the least interesting to me. I know there's a few people I know who will be disappointed in me for saying so. And it's weird cause I love motorcycles. My father has a Harley, Two BSA's and Yamaha. My late brother had a Honda Nighthawk 750. I've known people who've ridden everything from Ninja's to Ducati's. And while I've yet to own one myself, I've ridden a couple of dirtbikes a little bit. The first of which was a Honda CR80. But for some reason I've no real interest in watching bikes on TV. I can't put my finger on it. I've seen bikes drag in real life. And that's excellent. I've seen em jump 30 feet in the air. I've even nearly been killed by one riding my old Diamondback on a trail and nearly rolled over by a guy on Yamaha. But I just can't watch em on TV. Coverage maybe? I can't say. But even time it comes on speed I find myself looking for something else to watch. It's probably the last pure form of motorsport left. In terms of man and machine, without the modern electronic assists the I believe delude the man machine interface to some degree. Making the world of motorbikes the last pure form of motorsport, and yet I can't watch it on TV. Go figure! Sorry TicToc! |
