Word!
OK, this one's a bit different -I'm looking for two things here; who built it, and who owned it...bonus point if you can tell what part(s) changed between when it was built and now (that pic's very recent)

Andy Brizio is the Builder, John Bonham was the owner and the Supercharger is the new addition. Originally it was a 1915 Model T C cab.

No just luckily stumbled across a different picture of it while doing a bing search of Model T C Cab street rods
Only credit I can take is knowing it was a mid 19 teens model T as I absolutely love C Cab hot rods here's the next one... |

FWIW...the car originally did have a blower (a Weiland, IIRC), but sometime in the past few years the man who bought the car from Bonham's estate had the engine rebuilt and the orig. blower was swapped out for the one pictured. The car was part of a sort-of series, Andy's Instant T's, that Brizio did in the early-mid 70's.

My first guess is that it looks a lot like the Alfa Romeo 8c 2900 Berlinetta
namely the rear wheel spats. I haven't found the right one yet, but: Italian, Berlinetta, Touring ........... who knows. Last edited by Ecclesley; 10 July 12 at 20:49. |

Talbot nothing, but I can’t blame you for that association. The overall shape is perhaps closer to the Pourtout version (which I posted in this very thread ages ago) than it is to the famous Figoni designs, still those louvered fender skirts do remind me of the (pretty awful, if you ask me) Yello Talbo reimagining by Rinspeed. |

Ecclesley saves the day! Congratulations.
I came across this thing (based on a 1947 chassis and admittedly intended to look relevant to that era, although it looks more 1937-39 to me) a mere few days ago, when I needed to revisit a certain thread about Oleg Nagorny’s replica of that 1940 Stabilimenti Farina 6C 2500 SS I once posted, and I was pleased to discover it had been updated with info on this original (and impressively lengthy) development. |

I take the liberty to add a second riddle to this forum.
Below you see two pics one having five mugs of car manufacturers the other shows five cars. Now which one belongs to which. Face no 1 goes with??? And who are they and what is the name of the car. Well just for fun on a rainy afternoon. http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5408/menm.jpg http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/2472/carskw.jpg Last edited by CX650; 15 July 12 at 17:56. B3: 1947-48 Oldsmobile (hard to say which model, or even which format, from this angle) matches with Mr. Ransom E. Olds.
D2: 1938 Opel Olympia (judging by the color scheme) gets reunited with Herr Adam Opel. E1: An early 1950s Renault Colorale pick-up complements the (somewhat serious) portrait of Monsieur Louis Renault. I’ll leave the two other things (that look like they could be attached to a hooved animal) to someone else. And I have no idea what that funny-looking roadster of yours is either. |

Bump with another picture:
Regarding the second riddle: The missing two are: F.H. Royce (5) with the Rolls Royce Legalimit (C) (the first car with cruise control) J.F. Dodge (4) with the Dodge Screenside (A) |

Not an Italian chassis.
The designer from a southern European country, produced car designs on British, German, American, Italian and Spanish cars. |

Regarding the beer "seidl"; in the gothic writing lies a clue to this car. Not easily found, but let me say it is a mountain area in the country where this car came from. And the type designation of this car is named after that mountain area. In fact millions of cars have been sold with the same name, but they had no special coachwork, they were just ordinairy family cars. |

You are correct, it is a (Ford) Taunus, in fact a spider designed by the Spaniard Serra.
The clue Taunusgebirge (Taunus mountains) was here: |

I must confess to cheating. You gave the gothic script clue so I looked at a map with Mainz at the centre.
Have an easy one.

Those tail lights look like they could be out of either a '78to late '80's Holden Commodore or a Mercedes of similar period to me....

No. While the similarities are certainly there, I’m not aware of any actual connection. (I also find this design a little more elegant than the aggressively compact Lancia, though that’s not much of a hint, I’m afraid.)
Unfortunately, I can’t confirm any of this. Sure, they do look recycled to me as well (and Mercedes was an obvious association), but I’m feeling too lazy to launch into a taillight hunt at the moment. |

Not really a valid guess in itself, but since the Mercedes'ish lights are mentioned...some form of kit-car that uses Benz lights?

Your guess is close enough, Ecclesley. My puzzle car was an AS 160 but both models were virtually identical with the exception of the (4-cylinder Ford) engine displacement: 1297 and 1597 cm³ respectively. (Obviously, there was no way to tell, since I obscured the script.)
If I’m reading this Deutsch Wiki page right, as many as 249 units of the AS were churned out in Tattendorf, Austria between 1981-87, although only 17 remained in the country. No idea where the chassis came from. Oh yeah, thanks for adding that last pic; I’d always, uhm, lusted after a slightly larger version (for whatever reason), and as usual, congratulations for making me fail to provide a decent stumper once again. |
