Default Tire temps

Hello,

Just a quick question.
What are the ideal temperature zon for each types of tires in GTL?
I'm just asking because I've started to learn the GTC-TC 76 cars after the GT65s, and I've seen that the 911's rear temps are at about 100 centigrades.

Thnx,
Csaba

Look into .tyr files in GTL\GameData\Teams\ - it's all there: slip curves, pressures, temperatures and many more.

Optimum operating temperature is the first value in the Temperatures= line. How much of grip you loose from too cold or overheated tyres is in GripTempPress= line (first and second value, respectively).

Since it's been awakened anyway...

Ideal tire temps will probably vary, depending on the car...911's, being heavier in the back, will have higher rear temps than the BMW 2002tii (for example).

While in reality different cars will achieve different temperatures, the "ideal" is 90 degrees C for all the original (i.e. mods may differ) tyres.

In GTL BeepBeep (who normally knows his onions ) says it's more important to have equal temperatures than cooler hotter or "Goldilocks" ones

That is play with pressures & do a few laps...

try to find a pressure where the inside, centre and outside temps on a given wheel stay near to the same value.

That's pretty much my point in saying that different cars will have different temps...finding a good temp spread for that car/track/tire, rather than trying to get the tires to a specific pre-selected temp.

This advice goes back to the old Grand Prix Legends sim. GT Legends has more sophisticated tyre physics. The tyres generate more grip with a bit of negative camber. Negative camber will result in the inside temperature being higher than the outside. The aim should be to set the pressure so that the middle temperature is mid-way between the inner and outer.

This makes sense
