Default Killarney (South Africa) WIP for Race07/GTRevo)

Hoping to get some feedback for this, especially from people who have driven the track in person. So far I've used Google Earth and video footage as reference, track built using Bobs Track Builder.

Here is the file (Race07/GTRevo - 55mb):

Thanks!

Cool video of Killarney TICTOC, a friend of mine used to work at that GT40 factory here in Cape Town.

Vollgas, I will take a look at Zwartkops next, I noticed a few other people also asking for it.

Great video---Tiff really gets into it, doesn't he?

If you can and are acceptable to it---when you finish the track could you get someone to convert to other platforms-----I'm sure it would be appreciated by a lot of folks around here.

DRAGON

WOW---it looks really good from the screenshots

Yes I can do a version for GTR2 and even GTL, it's just rfactor that I can't do myself.
Soon as the Race07 version is done I will start with conversions.

Two gmts, t0_s1 and t0_14 aren't set as shadow receivers. You need to import each separately into 3dsimed and set the tags.

Thanks! That saves me a lot of time trying to figure out the problem, really appreciate it.

Awesome! Will give it a try. Last rode around Killarney in 1999 so will have to think back a bit to compare. A release for GTL would be awesome too.
Come to think of the current SA tracks i have in my offline install of GTL:
Kyalami 79 - great track and well done too, has been around for a while
East London (Prince George Circuit) - good too
Roy Hesketh - a GTR beta done by Paul Minaar a while ago. Fantastic track
Aldo Sribante - don't remember where i found this, no readme, the track needs an update and levels and textures need an update.

Seems that slowly we are getting it all together for SA tracks GTL/GTR2

Hi ZACAPA, thanks for trying the track, will be interesting to hear your thoughts on it.

You mentioned Paul Minaar, looks like he actually started with Killarney for GTR2 about 2 years ago but I could never find any release for it. I think he also mentioned working on Zwartkops but I never saw a release for that either.

Goresh, thanks for the help, the shadows are now fixed on my side and working perfectly

Just been driving it - Very cool track! Admittedly i have put it in my offline GTL install.
As far as the track is concerned it is pretty much spot on where corners and camber is concerned - well done, though i last rode it on a bike in 1999. What i have noticed is the AI like to go wide in the sharp corner at the end of the back straight. Might be a conversion issue. Lap times seemed realistic as well, the Abarth 1000 TC doing around 1:33.

Enjoying it, please carry on and finish it for sim racing fanatics...

Thanks ZACAPA, I appreciate the feedback. I will look into the last corner, I also noticed the AI braking a bit too early there so it needs looking at anyway.
I have been making progress, mostly graphical changes so far. I think it will be about a week or two to finish, then I will start with conversions to GTL and GTR2. After that I will start working on Zwartkops.

WAAAAAAAHH!!! LOVELY! Another South African track. As soon as a GTR2 version is available I'm grabbing it. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

So far for GTR2 we have the following South african tracks available:

Kyalami (JHB area)
Phakisa (Welkom)
Aldo Scribante (Port Elizabeth)
Prince George (East London) - Converted from GTL using a converter for personal use...

It would be wonderful to add Killarney (Cape Town) to the list. Furthermore, adding Zwartkops (Pretoria) would then mirror the venues used for the South African Wesbank Super Series (V8s, Production cars, Can-Am, Formula VW, Polo cup etc.)

Wonderful!

Yes it will work for Race On.
I am almost finished now, just a few minor things to do before uploading version 1.0.

@Pokkel121, thanks and yes it will be great to have all the major tracks for South Africa.

This is great.

Can't wait for the release

I'm saving up, I want to join the fine cars league/club/series or what ever it's called next year. I have only done drags and gymkhana at Killarney, never full main, so I hope that I can get a bit of a feel for the track before next year.

Cool man, this is awesome! They've just finished another bridge over the main straight, so you'll have to do a bit more modelling.

Can't run the current version but really looking forward to the GTR2 release.

I cant find any pics of the completed bridge, just some construction pictures.
I will release the track without the new bridge then update it at a later date.

the 0.1 version is looking great already! my only beef with it is the tarmac colour. it doesn't match the colour seen on pics and videos. everything else is great! thanks for doing it and sharing it with us lot. cheers.

Hi PortuguesePilot, thanks for the feedback. I will definitely make some changes to the tarmac now that you've mentioned it. Lucky for me it's quite easy to do

This is the end of the first lap of the first race under the new bridge. I can take some snaps from different angles next month if you'd like?

Thanks for the picture! Yes if you could get more photos that would be great. A shot from the other side would help a lot.

I got sidetracked with a work project, but the track is now 99% done I'm just doing some last minute adjustments.
There are still things I would like to add like rain reflections and the new bridge but that will have to wait for a future update. For now it's working well with no bugs (that I could find) so I will be uploading this weekend.

Wev'e been racing Killarney the last week or so on the Altbierbude servers. I can only add to what all of us reckon here - killer track! well done, great textures and good racing enjoyed by all.
I have posted on Nogrip in the release post of Killarney for GT Legends about positioning of the sun, it's a simple text file entry in the gdb file. That way the sun sits approx. where it should be. Don't know if this has already been taken care of in the other releases.
Thx again for a magic track

What is the odds that this can be converted to Netkar pro?
