Time Attack Problems

Hey guys,

I've posted a comment on the Downloads' page but I would also like to post a question here, hope you can help me please.

I play offline only, and Time Attacks only.

1. Is is possible to have a "standing start" for time attacks? Please, how?

2. At Pikes Peak, Time Attack, time does not start at the Depart line. It starts when I cross the Arrival Line. Pikes Peak is known for its Time Attack runs. I hope someone can help me with this issue.

Hi guys,

Please, I need help. In what file can I go to and activate the timer on the Time Attack on Pikes Peak? I tried modding the AIW file but still timer won't start on the START line on the track. It actually starts on the FINISH line. I have been checking other AIW files of other tracks that works fine, but I guess I am not just as good as you all are. Help guys. Really appreciate if you can point me in the right direction.

I play GTR Evo, Offline only, and mostly Time Attacks. I'm more of a rally-kind-of-driver. I have RBR, but GTR Evo has always been my favorite. Sorry if I don't play Online.

Just to give you an incomplete answer:

Never saw a Time Attack with a standing start.
Cannot help you for Pikes Peak, I don't have it and do very rarely Time Attacks.

Thanks for the reply Jempy.

What I do is I just crawl the car up to the Start line, stop there then do a standing start, LOL. So I guess that would do for me.

Regarding Pikes Peak, well, the answer is very elusive indeed. What I do now is I just race a single opponent, even if I don't beat him, at least I have the official time.

As Pikes Peak is just a hillclimb ... why do you use it in Time Attack mode ?

Did you try it with a single training session ? You shouldn't have this kind of problem I think without needing any opponent.

My idea is: as with a Time Attack mode your car is rolling before the starting line, the timer starts when you pass the starting line.

With a hillclimb, you're standing at the starting line and there's no rolling before the starting line ... guessing that's why the timer doesn't start and just starts at the next line ... the Finish one !

Maybe not the right answer but surely a possible reason

My favorite GTR Evo addon tracks are Pikes Peak and Alpine Hills. I am not really the "race track" type of guy. I ride solo, even in real life so I guess I always wanted to just beat my time. I wanted to know how fast I can drive Pikes Peak that's why I wanted to use it under Time Attack mode.

I am originally a RBR fan, but I like the realism of GTR Evo. Sometimes I wish that GTR Evo would be something like RBR.
