This is where I got started trying to find actual steering ratios.
Note the formula in post #8 of the linked thread
Rotation / 2 = (n)
(n) / (steering lock) = ratio
(n) / (ratio) = steering lock
I search actual vehicle specs on the web and convert them.
For instance as I am flipping around an Ariel Atom 500 V8
Actual vehicle turn lock to lock = 1.7
Then Logitech Profiler is set to 612 degrees.
Actual steering ratio is 12.75 to 1.
Steering lock setting in game is 24.0
I like to change the specific vehicle HDC file.
GTR2 does not exceed 23.0 in game, that's why I do this.
rFactor seems to behave better in this regard.
But .HDC file edits are my rule.
All the way down into the "Controls" part of the .HDC
If anyone uses LeoFFB in rFactor like I do
The steering lock CAN be edited in LeoFFB .cfg file.
So realistic because it is.
