Hello,
someone, a modder of course, can make a new model of this car? I know there is a model of this car in SCC Mod, but your quality is very poor. Thank you. http://bin3aiah.net/cars/makes/b/bmw...-LMR_19999.jpg Last edited by CX650; 2 January 13 at 17:43. Reason: Image size rule. |

Making a new scratch made car model takes much time and skills, and there are very few people who want to invest them in doing a car for a game, knowing that they won't get much in return. On top of that there are few to none who would do a car just because someone requested it.
By the way since there's already a model for that car (maybe low poly but still IT IS THERE) I think you should just use that one or start doing your own model |

Thank you for your responses. I'm not a modder, so its impossible for me to make this car.
Really i use the model of SCC Prototypes in my GTR2. There are two cars what i liked to have in high resolution, and a new cockpit reworked: BMW V12 LMR, and Mercedes C9. Good weekend for all, and my excuses for this request. |

If you have to apologize for that request, then 99% of the members of this site should do it too.
My 2 cts about car requests after my first serious try to model one from scratch: it takes more time than you may expect to gather accurate photo/drawing materials. Many published blueprints are lowres, somewhat inconsistent or contain errors. Even factory blueprints may be inaccurate sometimes, because they change a detail when actually building or developing the car. So you need to get good pictures and they are hard to find too. Especially the kind that are useful for modeling (like perfect front/rear/side views not distorted by perspective). Also a car may evolve from one season to another, sometimes within a season, sometimes from race to race (especially in 70s and 80s). So you have to sort out the pictures (between period pics and museum/restored cars, between seasons, between races) to make sure you are not mixing models. So before going on the long journey to model and skin a car from scratch, you may need a lot of time to draw the map that will help finish it. If you are really determined to see this car in a game (before pcars, as I read they will include it), this is the kind of work that you can do on your end, if you have the time and determination to do it. Then your request will be much more than another wish but the start of teamwork. |

@LeSunTzu, thank you for your kind words.
For the next month I'll be on vacation, and I'll see if I can meet some good photos of this model. Good luck with your Zytek project. A very good job. Greetings http://vimeo.com/45400257 Last edited by Blashko; 28 July 12 at 22:36. |

Alless, i do not dislike the SCC Model, only wanted a little rework of cockpit. I drive all cars in game with this view. So, it's important for me, a good work in this area. Thank you for your post. I accept with grateful your offer. One question, are you the modder that made the Audi R15? http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/image...-V12-LMR_7.jpg Last edited by CX650; 2 January 13 at 17:42. I wish I could see that car in action in real life so I could get my own personal pictures of the thing. That is such a good looking car!

@blashko Why don't you start to learn modding? You want a car, so use this as a learning project. I'm sure a lot of modders started in that way.

Well I don't think the other modders have that much free time. The thing needed is patience, if you are patient enough to overcome your mistakes, troubles and such things that you may encounter while making your model, you will be able to finish it someday. You can't finish a car in two or three days. It normally takes many weeks, if not months and even one whole year to do a proper job

There is a high-poly model for Racer out there. Cockpit looks fine too (on first sight).
Here is a preview from the model in ZModeler: You could try to get in contact with the author and ask for permission to use his car model Converting would be pretty easy ![]() Judging from the mesh and the day it was released etc, this seems to be a scratchmade car! So there should be no problems with converting - but we should wait on what the author says ![]() Information about the author can be found here, the car can be downloaded here. Good luck with this! =) |

It would be interesting to try and figure out a way to tie the ride height to the engine cooling. From what I found, the radiator was cooled by air drawn in from underneath the nose. So the lower they set the ride height, the worse the cooling became. I can't even think of a way to do that with the current ISI code, but it would be interesting.

AFAIK you can only set the ride hight to influence the lift and drag more or less...the physics engine doesn't support such a connection between ride high and engine cooling

It won the 1999 24 hours of Le Mans, as well as taking part in the 1999 and 2000 ALMS Seasons:
