I have noticed that a few of the add-on cars that I have downloaded do not cast shadows. It's not a big problem but is there any sort of quick fix for this?

Run the config.exe in your game main folder and be certain you're running
DX9. If that doesn't fix the issue it's a problem with the mod. The problems with the mod range from simple to not so simple to fix, so there is no blanket cure, sorry. Cheers. |

My config says I am running dx9 so I will just leave it at that. Like I say, it is not a big problem. Thanks for the quick reply.

Do you have shadows turned on in the game options? Do the cars you mention have shadow models listed in the cas file?

Goresh,
Almost all the cars do have shadows so it is not a game options problem. I opened the .cas file for one car without shadows and found that the shadow section was coloned out. I un-coloned the lines and then the car caused a CTD. I opened the OBJ.GTR file and found no shadow.gmt file, which would seem to be the problem. I suspect that that is probably the problem with all the shadowless cars. It all sounds too much bother to fix for a dabbler like me, so I will probably leave things as they are. Thanks for all your help. |

What cars from what mods? Maybe I can whip something together for you.

Kind of you to offer. It will take me a while to go through all the cars but one that I would like fixed is the Alfa Romeo 2300 Touring Spyder that came with the Street Car mod. Being an older car and high off the ground the lack of a ground shadow is most noticeable.

Brilliant! If you could let me know how it is done I could probably fix any other ones myself.
