Default Making a car faster?

I've downloaded a mod which I am wanting to add to the GTClub class of GTR EVO; I've got the car to show in the class, however depending on the track it's between 3 and 5 seconds per lap slower than the rest of the field.
I'd like to make the car faster so that it is competitive with the rest of the class, but I'm not sure how to go about doing this. I've seen a post suggesting that this could be achieved by copying the engine files from another car and renaming them, however this is the only add on car I have in this class and the rest of the files are encrypted, so I'm not really sure how to go about it.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

there are a number of ways to improve including different engines, gearboxes, changing final drive, better braking etc.

Personally for this one I would make the car weigh less, open up the .hdc file and alter the Mass= setting at the top. It's in kg.

Drop 25kg off and check it and adjust accordingly.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I'd already had the thought of changing the engine to that of a comparable car, but with it being the only mod I have in this class all those files are encrypted.

have a search for something called wtcced, it is referenced here many times, it allows us to decrypt the files and open/edit them.

Changeing the engine for 3 seconds is extreme lol
