My first impressions of some of the Cars. Very realistic grip and sense of being planted to the road. Unlike iracing, you can also drive your way out of trouble if you start to lose control. I do not get that floating sensation that I was getting with the iracing machines. So I am very pleased about this!

I also like pCARS very much. So now I have three fine Racing sims. They all have their pros and cons. I will continue to support all 3 of them. That is, iRracing, pcars and simracway, These are happy days for SIM racers. I am just glad the console "GAMES" industry
did not make PC sims extinct! EA and others tried to do this. And I for one am delighted that they failed.

Well, although I am member of SRW almost a year, I didn`t like the game very much. I can`t explain why, but general feeling wasn´t right. But today I tried Jetta for free, "next minute" bought it and 10 other cars, all for less than 4€, too ... and simply start lovin´ it after almost 6 hours of driving different tracks with different (mostly 4WD and FWD) cars.
Just keep doing good work, guys!

I,m very happy I found the game and am really enjoying it. Some of the people driving it are getting some really fast times and I,m having fun trying to catch the ghosts. It,s a really competitive game no matter what car you drive. The Indycar sure has my interest, it is supposed to follow the real series from what I have read. Belle Isle, St Pete, Toronto ..ect bring em on . Just like simel says, happy days for sim racers!

Three new tracks at Simraceway! Chicagoland,Martinsville and Watkins Glen, short and long. I think this is the best version of the Glen I have raced to date, when compared to rf1 and other versions of the track. The laser/gps scanning has made a big difference! The 2 ovals are also very well done. Car count is up to 62 out of a planned 600 machines and who knows how many tracks..Yum,Yum..LOL

Really enjoying this blossoming new sim!

I just got this today, mainly so I could drive the Morgan 3 wheeler, it's great fun around Lime Rock and a bargain for 45 cents but looks a bit funny with no driver on board! FFB is very good, cars are very "catchable", all in all it seems very promising and well worth a try.

Anyone use CSRE with this? I can't set it properly for this, it has same problem as it was in pCars earlier, horrible "centering spring"-problem wich makes driving damn difficult. Adjusting forces etc doesn't change that.

I the standard CSR wheel and pedals. I am using the latest beta 140 driver and 750B firmware which you can get here http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/8947 This made a big difference with how it worked with Simraceway

On the Fanatec property settings I have it set to 900 and 0 damping and on the wheel I use two different program slots for my wheel settings which I switch between depending on the track and car:

Sen: Off
FF: 60-100 depending on car on avg I have it set to 70
Sho:60 - This setting is also car dependent and I use from 100-60, but on avg I have it set to 60.
dri: +1
Abs: This setting is very car dependent. Some cars like the Audi RS4 have a tendency to pull the car hard right as you break hard so I turn it OFF. You have to play with different cars to get a general balance and of course some cars just need thier own setting such as the Audi RS4. on avg I have it set to 60
Lin: 000
Dea: 000
Spr: -2
Dpr: -1
ACL: Off . This is the new Automatic clutch you will see in the new Beta firmware and driver.

For tighter tracks with lots of turns I use these settings, I also use this for the formula cars.

Sen: 270
FF: 60-100 depending on car on avg I have it set to 70
SHo: This setting is also car dependent and I use from 100-60, but on avg I have it set to 60
Dri: +1 to +2 depending on the car
Abs: This setting is very car dependent on avg I use 60 and Off for some cars that pull hard under heavy braking
Lin: 000
Dea: 000
Spr: -1
DPR: -1

In Game make sure under control settings under "Rate" Steering rate is 100 and speed sensitivity is 0. Also under "Sensitivity" make sure you take what ever your steering axis is and push it to 100. In my case it the X-axis. The other you can star around 50% and adjust to your own liking.

I hope this helps. Also there is a support and community forum available at http://community.simraceway.com/simraceway

Well, tried this over the weekend, and after the debacle that was TD Ferrari, been enjoying it immensely. On-line it has been a blast, with the odd idiot, but hey, what game doesn't have them ? Looks very pretty too.

Downloaded this weekend and spent an hour or so yesterday playing with the free content (BMW at Watkins Glen). Once I got the feel for the car I started to have fun and shave seconds off my lap time. Looking forward to having a go on line, but it looks like I have to purchase some cars to do that - not a problem as the cost is nominal.

I've pretty much stayed away from online. Advancing age and years of abuse have taken it's toll on my hand-eye coordination and reaction time so I'm not the quickest. What I like about Simraceway is the 'skill matching system' which is supposed to allow me to race against similarly skilled (unskilled?) competitors with hopefully fewer wreckers than I seem encountered on the rF, GTR2, or GTL servers. Mostly I like being able to do this in interesting cars, unlike iRacing, where I got bored of legends cars and the Pontiac Solstice pretty quickly. What I did like about iRacing was the ability to jump on at just about anytime, and in a few minutes start a race. I hope there is enough interest in SRW to support that.

I think I'll buy an Alfa tonight.

I bought the John Cooper Works S Coupe and did some laps at Mid-Ohio and it felt as good as the Mini in Game Stock Car, meaning the FFB felt great and I really felt connected to the road. This game is coming along nicely.

I downloaded it again this week-end and it felt very good to me, very realistic.

The car felt very planted on track and i felt like driving a real car.

Bought 5 cars and have vry nice feelings about this sim.

Iracing, Rfactor2 and Simraceway the top 3 for me.

Same here! I drove 4 different cars today and the feeling I got through the FFB was outstanding on each one. The cars felt identifiably different and they felt very connected to the pavement (at least at Lime Rock and Mid Ohio)

Edit: And the interiors/cockpits are looking great too.

SRW has a nice Challenge going on now. You race against Allan McNish,s lap of Silverstone in the R18. They just released Silverstone and did a very nice job of it.

Could you share your settings for FFB? My wheel feels very disconnected compared to, well, pretty much any sim.

Hi, First I followed the steps in the first post here. (Adjusting the Steering Force makes a big different on how stiff the wheel feels, I cranked mine up to loosen it)

In the Logitech profiler I have the following settings:

Overall Effects = 85 (I keep adjusting this one, for now I have it at 85)

Sprint Effects = 0

Damper Effects = 0

‘Unselect’ Enable Centering Spring and set to 0%

‘Select’ Special Steering Wheel Settings (do not select combined pedals)

Degrees of Rotation = I’ve been trying to find the sweet spot but right now I have it at 360

‘Select’ Use Special Game Settings

‘Unselect’ Allow Game to Adjust Settings

Thanks. I tried it and it's a little better. However, midcorner it still feels like crap. The problem is that the force feedback is so profound that it's masking every single other input, except for rumble strips. The most important problem I have is that I simply cannot feel the grip loss in the wheel. I'm just guessing based on sound. This makes me overheat the front tires pretty quickly, makes me very slow, or both.

I'm curious to know if you play Game Stock Car and/or the P&G 3 mod for GTR2. If 'yes' do you have the same "disconnect" feeling? Reason I ask is I feel those 2 provide the best FFB and if you have issues with those games then you have a possible hardware or driver issue.

Edit: What wheel are you using?

I'm not using P&G but I do have a variety of other sims, including GSC. I've just fired it up for comparison and it has exactly the feedback I'm looking for midcorner. So no hardware issue, luckily.

I have felt personal street cars loose grip during high speed cornering and it really got my attention but I’ve never tried to find that same feeling in the sims I play. I guess it’s because I don’t get the “feel of the seat” sensations as in a real car. I adapt to the sim itself for what it is and I can tell if my car is losing grip in each sim I play with some sims being more pronounced than others.

Simraceway is not perfect but I do feel connect to the road in almost every car I drive. Maybe it’s a combination of my ButtKicker, G27 and 3 screens or it may be my ignorance. Whatever it is or isn’t I like it none the less.

Edit: If you like older race cars and awesome FFB get P&G 3, you won’t be disappointed.

Ok. I know SRW is not perfect, nor will it ever be.
But now I'm really wondering, how do you 'feel' the grip in sims? Because I get it from scrub noise and ffb. Mostly ffb though.

When the tires break loose my buttkicker and G27 feel different, both may not be realistic but they feel different, along with 3 monitors adding peripheral vision I "see/feel" the car movement(s) more so I guess it’s a combination of factors.

Edit: The more I think about it the buttkicker has always given me the sensation of being connected to the road but it does vary from sim to sim and car to car. If I race without it everything feels wrong regardless of the sim and or car but even without the BK the cars seem "planted" to the pavement 90% of the time in SRW.

Im shattered that the Morgan is STILL broken....
It's the reason I got into SRW to start with & was huge fun to drive....
Would be nice to know when it'll be fixed as they keep saying soon for the last couple of months....

Comparison of the Silverstone Circuit between a real onboard and Simraceway Beta. The circuit is scanned and as you can see, It's exactly identical.

They did a nice job on Silverstone , I get very good frame rates on it with no slowdowns at all.

Anyone interested in seeing some good racing check out
https://www.simraceway.com then enter chat

Todays race has 2 commentators and starts at 9:00AM PST (5:00PM GMT / 18:00 CET) Qual and warm up then race starts at 9:30. A total of 4 races today.

They added another very cool feature, 1v1 for a small amout of cash (40 cents). So basically if you think your good..... then put your money where your mouth is. Haa good idea but not for me.

Hello everyone,

I also tried the game and I like it. Much better option if one is interested in the low powered cars than searching through the rFactor mods jungle. Graphics are significantly better than rFactor either.

Physics are as good as gMotor allows I guess. GSC may be better but as they have limited cars, can't really compare.
I'm curious how close the handling of the production cars in Simraceway is to real world.

And REALLY hope to see Nordschleife one day.

Now the pricing is more than fair for what the game offers. Hope to see the game around for some time.

ISIMotor2 physics (pMotor2) allows a lot, mate. Having worked with different engines, I find it one of the best physics engines and overall game engines around. Thing is, only those that have the know how can extract the most/best out of it (some modders, Reiza, SIMBIN in the past and currently SimRaceWay).

As for handling, some of the pros I'm in contact with have nothing but praise for the feel they get from this sim.

If they carry on, hats off to them.

Wow, Pudsey, I can't believe someone has made a track there, I used to delivery trucks from Chatfields DAF there, 1:25 in the video turn left then first right to the Dealer, that is a pretty accurate track, I need to go drive it now. If you have time while racing this track there is (or was) a stonking Café just after you turn left

Hi rafnix,

If you would like to visit our website chat our 24/7 support team can help run through the troubles your having and get you back on the track.

Visit https://simraceway.com and login at the top, then click the yellow chat button on the left of your screen.

Sorry for the troubles. We did release a further update last night (GMT Time or today PST Time) that should iron out the bugs we found with the new download manager service.

Regards

Thanks for taking care Rob. The game does work in my case or rather sometimes, it`s more like a maybe.
I experienced a couple of times that the content starts to download although it already should have downloaded the whole content minutes/hours ago as that was confirmed.
But regardless your base game is free and after my big disappointment from IRacing I am more than happy to find this little jewel.

Best wishes SRWs

The sim may give you a little grief now and then but it improves all the time . I hope you get it sorted out because it can really grow on you. I like how you can have a go in an F1 one minute and a 56hp MG the next.
