Default AI set ups Question

I have been playing the f1 2005 mod a lot recently, and have been thinking does the AI use the same set-ups for all tracks? their top speed is always the same, at the old Hockenhein track they are about 30mph slower down the straight than me,so they are too easy to pass. how do i get them to use my set up? do i copy it in to the f1 2005 folder?

"Rob" at RSC posted this tutorial:

Tutorial How to Give AI your Personal best Garage setup to use for any track

(A) Ok to start we go to the track desired, for example Jacksonville.

Assuming you have rF installed on the C: drive, if not replace C: with drive letter
u used to install rF.

(B) Go to C:\Program Files\rFactor\GameData\Locations\Jacksonville\Jack sonville500 and
open the jacksonvill500.gdb with NOTEPAD.

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the file and notice these entry's,

SettingsFolder = Jacksonville
SettingsCopy = Jacksonville_NSCRS_Fast.svm
SettingsCopy = Jacksonville_NSCRS_Easy.svm
SettingsAI = Jacksonville.svm

The one we need here is obvious because its the only one dealing with AI, so
you guessed it, its the one called ' SettingsAI = Jacksonville.svm '

What this line tells us is the following information,
THIS is the name of the setup file that the AI willlook for and use if its available.

BTW this is the line we look for in EVERY track .GDB file, MOST tracks will have it some dont.
If its not there you can add it to the bottom of the .gdb file but LET WELL it WILL cause a MISMATCH
online if you have added anything to the .gdb file so, BE CAREFULL dont do it for tracks u use ONline.

Ok so what do we do next?

(C) We go to our Jacksonville track to find our own personal setup for this track, how??
U ask, well its basically simple goto C:\Program Files\rFactor\UserData\<yourname>\settings

(D) Now find the track we need the setup u made for your own driving pleasure, in this example:
C:\Program Files\rFactor\UserData\<your name>\Settings\Jacksonville and double click on the folder.
You will find at least 1 xxxxxx.svm file if u made a setup while driving your car on this track.

(E) Now copy your setup file xxxxxxx.svm to the te main dir of the car you want to use the setup with, in other words
to dir like C:\Program Files\rFactor\GameData\Vehicles\Evolution\evolutio n.

(F) Be sure u rename the setup file for instance xxxxxxx.svm to the name that was wriiten in
the .gdb file we used above note is says Jacksonville.svm, so we rename our xxxxxxx.svm to Jacksonville.svm and place it in C:\Program Files\rFactor\GameData\Vehicles\Evolution\evolutio n

Now if you start your learning for the AI, the AI will look for a setup file called Jacksonville.svm
and use it to drive the car, so gear ratios etc etc etc are used from this file.

To make sure that all AI use this file its imperitive that you place the file in the car directory where also the .HDV and .tbc files are locatedas shown in step (F).
This way the .svm file is not driver dependent or Talent file dependent.

If anyone has a question regarding this procedure u can ask in this thread.

This is the thread, you might find additional info:

Actually it seems the .svm file is supposed to be placed outside of physics folder... I.e., where .cam, .gen, configuration settings, files are located rather than the those directly related with physics.

I had a mod where the author(s), split the vehicle files between a physics and a teams folder. I had to place the .svm in the teams folder.
