That certainly makes one wonder how much life there is in Gmotor DX9 graphics-engine (including for SimBin titles), that perhaps it just hasn't been all that explored and/or experimented for textures and respective mapping .

This made me think of Siim Annuk's ToyotaSupra mkIV mod for rFactor 1. Being a zillion years old, rFactor graphics are obviously now dated but this mod really surprised me (and many others I suspect). It demonstrated as you said, how much life can be teased out of a graphics engine.
