How many of you in here are using the UCP w/JSGME for your new cars so as to ensure that they will install cleanly on other people's machines?

I know Chenuka doesn't, though I don't understand why, since the whole idea was to make it easy and convenient to distribute one's work.

I use JGSME for half of my cars, I forgot JGSME could be used for installing cars.

Hey, well I don't simply cut and paste and your done really??? unless somehow JSGME auto adds the lines in vehicleslist tyresHD and vehiclesHUD to me JGMSE saves only a tiny bit of time....

I can totally see a newbie who knows nothing of the game file structure finding JSGME very usefl though ermo, thankyou...

I did use it to install the Xbox360 buttons though....in somecases mod install is easy...thanks..

Yeah, adding lines to those files manually is a pain, but since JSGME doesn't add them for you, it's the only way.

In these cases, I usually recommend that people maintain a custom mod which contains only the manually merged text files and activate this custom mod last to avoid overwriting the existing files permanently. It is the most convenient way to ensure a) that other add-ons stay sane as shipped and b) that you can easily revert to a known working state.

YMMV of course.

Pffft, I ended up searching for save files that have more than 28 million, just to discovered that I can edit them in the .crd file...

That's not Winner's mod...winner has been quite inactive over the past few days though it looks like he'll be releasing 4 cars and not one to make up for it .....personally I hope their all good quality...

Unfortunately the translation isn't as comprehensible as it should be....Language barriers...all the modders are Russian...And yes they speak english but unfortunately due to no fault of their own will find it difficult giving step by step no margin for error instructions in English.. I know how the dummy files work and how you make them. I only made clone cars in shift 2, but I don't have experience with importing and exporting and generating the files. I just wanted to help this community expand and let more people know how to convert cars.

There are no complete tutorial in Shift 1 section or elsewhere, they are scattered inside many thread. JDougNY gave main guides about converting, editing and make the car shows up in the game. But some of detail, or even tip and trick buried in older post from another member. Keep in mind that convert and edit the model from forza or other sources with zmodeler or any 3d program are different thing with how to add car into the game. You will find the easy and better way that suit you along with trial and error.

PS:
Not all modders who has released addon car are Russian, there is Indonesian and Brazillian.

That's sad....so Is there ANYONE who speaks fluent perfect english who can make a tutorial?? Bregel, honestly your english is not too bad if I say so myself.... I think the foreign modders may actually be able to do it if they put the time and effort into it..

However I remember when I was learning from Winner it was definitely difficult to understand him...I mean I got to the point where I learned a lot actually but because of misunderstandingd he wasn't always able to answer all of my questions..

Yeah its true, but different people has different thing in his mind. Lets say like JDougNY, he will answer whatever your question about mod if he know, but dont ask his car to share, he will say no even you put gun in his head. While me, Ill share any complete car in my pc, but I wont share some "tip n trick".

my problem is, same cars had only little reflection of body part....i export the body with zmodeler and edit the hex line from 4 to 2

but no effect

You only have to copy it into Mods-Folder and activate it with JSGME. Don´t forget to make entry in vehicles.list.
For me it works.

Default Add new Tire

Hi Guys, need some Help.
Is there a Chance to add a new Tire in Shift2?

I Tried anything, edited necessary files, textures. Anything looks right.
But when i choose Tire in Game, it crash (CTD).

I copied tread.bmt, tyre.bmt and tyres.rcf, renamed and edited them, same with textures. Michelin, Bridgestone, Dunlop and Goodyear Tires woking fine (Mods from SternRavor and Aerex).
Trid anything, but not working.
Is the Ammount of Tires Limited?

Remember to remove the readme.txt when you copy into the MODS folder, sometimes cars won't show up because of that.

Hey Martin, noticed you are also from South Africa, good to see a Shift 2 enthusiast like myself from South Africa.
to download click on the mod name and then click on (Зеркало #2) to download. Unfortunately all of the mods are hosted on DepositFiles, which is absolutely useless

Yes it's possible!!
you can all regends vehicle's Performance Index change into the same value.
Performance Index is in vehicles-physics-statistics-carname.mrdf.
offset 00000048-0000004B.
after changded Performance Index, you must Re-purchase that car.

and this ClutchTorque=60000.0
but i dnnot know what im doing

@BMW4lifeNate Ooooh yeah never thought id see another south african here.. And thanks.. Anyway me have question.. How can i change the performance stats of a car? No offence intended but the stats on winnerSD47s R18 are innacurate.. Firstly it has a 3.7l turbodiesel V6 not a W16 and the accelaration is way to slow the brakes and handeling is goo but I want to fix that accelaration.. And maybe lower the PI and the 1200bhp and 1800kg weight is just ridiculous..it has 540bhp and weighs about 900kgs plus the top speed is higher (i dont know how to mod and maybe this is an unfixable problem.. In that case i am sincerely sorry)

J want to edit brakes. It would bi nice if cars braking like in GRID. Car stops in less then two seconds. J want this in Shift 2. Possible, or not?!

And graphic is poor, in shift 1 is better, especially with Better Shift Visuals mod. J dont see difference on low and high in shift 2 (car detail, track detail, reflections). Can someone make better shift 2 visual mods?? Like this

One more. If possible to disable screen shaking in non cockpit camera ("third person camera")?

Most cars can get a turbo upgrade through ingame Upgrades

If you want to create a unique turbo file you have to edit one cars .vhdf binary file though and create a new turbo .tbf file. You have to look into the .tbf files in physics/turbo folder for turbo data adjustments.

If you need help there just ask.

maybe, BrakeTorque param in brake upgrade file (vehicles\physics\upgrades\*.udf, ID=BrakeUpgrade) affects Braking performance. udf file is referred to from vehicles\physics\vehicles\*.vdfm file.
If this param is adjusted, it may be made to your liking.
