Electric cars are expensive to repair? I thought it was just a quick bios reset and a driver update

I have no freaking idea... it can go upto 120kph... so... i dunno... but hey, there are around 10 of these cars left in this small city so no worries, they can silently run over kids again

The biker testimony would be "I never heard that one coming".

edit: It's just a dented panel, they can just change it... can't they? A panel wouldn't cost that much unless the company charge more because it's an electric car.

I hold three advanced qualifications. That said, I routinely ask my mate Chris (a registered instructor) to give me a critique on my driving.

IMHO, proper observation on the part of either vehicle controller would have obviated the problem.

If the biker wore a helmet, it would have taken a VERY LOUD car...
My brother rides a chopper bike, and he couldn't even hear my Mini when I was right in front on the highway, only 'a little bit'.
Yeah that is the same Mini as which I had to stick metal-abrasive-sponges into the exhaust to pass the MOT.

Note: looking at that pic I think it's a moped.
Over here, mopeds are 50cc bikes that are used by 16 year old numbskulls.
If they are lucky enough to survive then from 18 they can take driving lessons.

Does anyone think like me that when there are more Electric cars on the roads Accident rates of hitting kids will go up?

When I was a child (many moons ago!) we played in the streets and when someone heard a car they shouted "CAR!!" and we vacated the road, let the car pass then resumed playing. These cars just won't be heard.

Sound has nothing or very little to do with road safety, take the greencross code for example, it doesn't say stand on the curb, listen left and listen right, if you don't hear anything it's safe to cross

they should put speakers on the outside of the car, and play an engine sound, so everyone could hear them coming

Or they could make struts on the fenders and use clothes pins and playing cards to flap against the spokes on the wheels, like we used to do when we were kids to give that motor sound on our bikes!!!!!

Actually, that's not such a weird idea. I read that Brabus is producing a soundsystem for the Tesla Roadster. We are so used to cars producing
engine noises, I think it would be a very unsafe situation if there would
be fully electrical and almost silent cars on the road.

They all laughed when I suggested playing a recorded Ferrari engine in the Prius.

"Obviated"

In the US that gives you a triple word score and 9 out of 10 people looking at you thinking, "What does getting pregnant have to do with this?"

Would 'precluded' be a better word?
