I thank you for the offer. For what I have in mind, the track did not have a chicane.

I would like this to be as close to historically correct as possible.

I was planning on using Charlotte as a replacement, but I can live with the chicane.

What do you think would be the better way to go?

Still some more research to do, a car to locate & possibly some skins.

When I get all, or most, of the pieces together I will announce it as a WIP

Gnoo Blas circuit!

It was the birthplace of Australian touring car championships in the 60's.
There is a GTL/Rfactor version released by legendsatlunch but I can't find a version for GTR2.

You will need to register to download, but it is free.

Unfortunately, on my system Gnoo Blas has dreadful framerate problems that renders the track virtually undriveable, a problem that I do not have with any other add-on track.

PLease make a circuit that is simply one long straight. thats it. and make it go on as long as possible and be real wide with plenty of garages/pits. It really cant be that hard to make it. its real simple and i know lots of people who want it to max out their cars/have drag races, etc. so PLEASE MAKE IT!!!!

Hey cico76...Sure, I will release the track for Gtr2, Race07 & rFactor. Same as i did with Navarra. I am using Gtr2 to develop the track because it is the sim I usually drive most of the times, although I also use rfactor and race07 a lot .

The only North West 200 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_West_200) circuit I know of in digital form is on the PS2 game TT Superbikes: Real Road Racing Championship....
As for Ulster GP, there have been 2 circuits by that name that I know of...

Im guessing you mean the Dundrod circuit as there hasn't been a race that I know of at Clady since 1952.

It would be possible to convert it for private use but I believe that the conversion to rF from GTL isn't exactly legal

Whether it is "legal" or not a banned member is significantly involved with that site, therefore references do not comply with site rules.

p.s. we prefer 'unauthorised' rather than 'illegal', there is a 'legal' difference that lawyers understand better than we do.

Term noted thanks CX650, the way Lawyers work/think I'm sure their understanding would be expensive to have translated into terms we can understand...LoL
I only ran the risk of mentioning that particular rF(1) version as I originally found it on Race Department posted some time back by an admin for a race series & I 'think' that by the time the Hi-Res version was made it had been approved by Mr Pearson otherwise it wouldn't have been there....
To tell the truth, I wouldn't even know who did the Hi-Res version but would like to know so I can ask about using the marshals for one of my own.
Im not sure & would appreciate if anyone can enlighten me about it via PM (no need to go off-topic in this thread about it...) because if it IS still unauthorized then I wouldn't want to be breaking forum rules by chatting about it.
As for the GTL & GTR2 versions, I don't play those sims & had no idea that they even existed.
Anyway, sorry for the lengthy ramble folks...

At risk of displeasing certain people, said banned member seems to have learned a great deal since his 'problem' and has made peaceful and cooperative overtures. Whilst I have no problem with site rules per se, I might have a difficulty from the 'second chances' POV.

For all of us to enjoy everything that is made/uploaded with old fashioned manners unless the originator is too much of a Diva.

Guys like Butch's and Pap21's (for example) team deserve their status because they (and others) do things that we can't. However to grant such approbriation and exclusivity to others who merely (I use the term advisedly) convert or modify is above and beyond. I have learned much in my years on here, almost enough to make my own mods from the bottom up. Is this from instruction and guidance? NO, my only help has been from one member who is as enthusiastic to share as I.

Maybe I am, maybe I'm not, but this grumpy old git can extend to a 'don't take advantage' kind of viewpoint. Yes you are talented, yes you are better educated but you are not necessarily more intelligent. Some of us might be able to understand with a hint or two. We might even be able to join with you in increasing enjoyment of the games. Face it brothers, it's the game that matters, not you. Just take satisfaction from teaching and sharing.

I believed that this site was the best for sharing, please prove me right.

Fortunately this attitude seems on the decline. There are too many talented people who "discover" the same data and are quite willing to share their findings.

I recall the early days of track editing/creating (the era of N2 and ICR2) when there was one group of editors who posted on the first page of their website (paraphrasing from memory): "Do not write us asking for information or instructions about track editing. Do not ask what tools we use. Do not request tracks. We will create these tracks as time and interest allows and will release them to the community as we see fit." Within a couple of years other people, freely sharing their knowledge, were releasing a variety of road courses, street circuits, etc. while this elitist group, still closely guarding their secrets, churned out a stream of near identical ovals.

Having proven my complete lack of aptitude in this area (aborted attempts in GPL and N2k3 ...merely read some tutorials for GTR2), I express my admiration for those who do create all these tracks for us.

Thanks BLeeK. I'm familiar with Jim Pearson's Dundrod circuits for GPL. As you note, what I'm really looking for is the current layout for the North West 200 (either with or without the chicanes added in recent years).

Wondering if someone could make the track used for the '3 Horas de Velocidade' held in Petropolis, Rio de Janeiro State, in Brazil. The circuit used the streets of the centre of Petropolis and the cars passed in front of my house at the time. I could hear them practicing during early morning the day before the race. It was in the 60's and was really awesome- great times. In the last race 2 drivers died and that was then the last race ever there. I have some pictures of the circuit and would send if needed. I would appreciate very much if someone could produce the track for GTR2, I have not enough knowledge to do it. Thanks!!!!!
