Renaming the folder shouldn't be a problem.

I have the same problem with most mods (also using max textures and car detail) but it only happens at long range. The added cars appear normal on the starting grid but once they begin to spread out the car bodies begin to disappear.

Because the models they use are so high quality, SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED doesn't have the capability of showing these cars at long distance,

OR you just don't have a very high performance computer

i5-2320, 8G, GTX560, and my monitor resolution is 1680 X 1050, is it capable to show those mods high quality in distance?

if my computer is ok, are there any ways i can modify the mods to adapt myself?
first of all i'll ask permission from original author

It's all to do with graphics and models, stuff like that. I'm sure there is a way of fixing this by editing the cars

For the damaged textures, import the meb files into 3DSimED then just export

Very good answer from nfs body kit builder.
I thought its because they dont use lodc for the their car.

LamboMantisMan, importing and exporting the files didnt worked... Most of my cars have the damaged texture,I tried to delete the "dirt" file, but it removes dirt and damage from all the cars and adds other glitches. There is any other way to fix this glitch? I tried everything, even reinstalling Shift 2 and the mods, please, somebody help me.. Sorry for my english.

Treatment of the dirt textures is not limited to import / export models 3Dsimed. You have to override materials in Zmodeler and should copy the coordinates of the texture channel 1 to channel 2 in 3Dsimed. But it will destroy the damage model. It sounds surprising is not it?
Just do not install the deficiencies that put their authors more incompetent than talented.

Thank you for the quick reply! I agree with you. Removing the damage model should work! I'll try to do that ( even if I dont know how to override the materials or copying the texture's coordinates, hehehe ) But I will give it a try. Thank you

Most of the addon cars I've tried have dumped my framerate into the toilet during a race - The Nemesis Race addons, some various ones from around the interwebs... the only exception is the Ferrari addons that seem ok.

Is this an LOD issue? They all work fine, and show up in races, and the framerate is ok if I'm hotlapping solo, but even a race with just 5 or 6 other cars and its down to 10 frames per minute.

Any suggestions?

Because it all rip from forza high poly model. When interior cam load only interior high poly model, rear cam load car high poly + interior high poly (our "modmakers" take easiest way - high poly int + high poly ext). In Shift model it varies from 10k to 15k polys, when in forza - 50k to 100k or more. Multiple by 5 we have max 75k polys in shift race or 500k or more in shift with your mod cars.

Pretty much what dequaded said. Most of the addon cars do not have LOD files like the originals do (the ferrari addons were from SHIFT to begin with so they have similar structure). It takes quite a bit more time to do the different LODs but it's worth it IMO.

Thanks guys, thought that was the case. Real shame because there are some really nice cars, would be great to run a full field, but by the time I'd turned everything down to get the framerate up it'd look like the first Ridge Racer on PS1.
