Question Custom Races with add-on cars in QUICK RACE mode

Hello all.

I was trying to make a QUICK RACE only with these 2 models: Porsche 935 and BMW CSL Gr5/Turbo. But when I go to: single player / quick race, these two add-on cars don’t appear listed individually in the "event options", unlike the other 28 “original” models of the game.

My intention would be to apply a "tick" only in these two models (event options), so I could race with only them in QUICK RACE mode.

Just to clarify, I do not want to create a championship between them (Porsche 935 and BMW CSL Gr5/Turbo), but only make a few sporadic races, and, for this, I think that I would need to make them appear listed in event options ... Or would have any other option?

Could someone, please, explain to me if this would be possible?

Many thanks in advance for any useful info!

You need CarTool fella, nice little program that lets you choose any cars you like to race against each other. It's available in the download section for GTL, author was Nappe1.....

A simple way is to create your own class with just these two cars; there are several tutorials here for creating classes, then merely add that class to the class line in each of these cars' .car files. The cars will still appear in their normal classes but you can select your custom class and have just them in races.

Thanks a lot for the tips, rookiedaz and jgf!

I tried using the utility (CarTool), but, unfortunately, I did not get success; it insists on showing error messages. When have more free time, I will make another attempt, for sure the blame of failure was mine ...

So I used the tip of jgf: I edited .Car files from the models that interest me (Porsche 935 and BMW CSL GR5 / Turbo). It was a time consuming job, because counting only Porsche 935, have almost 80 in the "garage"... Hehehehe...

I managed to create a class with these two models, but I'm not completely satisfied, because I would want that these two models were listed individually (with a "square" on the right, for a individual “tick”) in the "event options." So if I wanted to, in the future, for example, make a race with only Porsche 935, I could; the way it is now, I can not ...

Did someone could tell me, please, what (more) to do to make the two models appear individually, as the “original” models?

Anyway, I am very grateful for your tips, they were extremely helpful to me!

Any new information will be very welcome!

Thank you all.
