1. Best idea for Reborn is delete your talent now and use the MOD provided to restore it.

So if you use Standalone GTR2 remove talent BUT leave the blank folders,
( so you get no pesky folder overwrite warnings )

2. Cut and Paste USERDATA\YOUR NAME\SETTINGS to the MOD provided to restore after Reborn

So you can pick between Default, HQ AI or Reborn talent in a click

Good news just got permission to add GTR2 MAP PLUGIN to next version

I made 3 mods

GTR2 MAP PLUGIN v1.08 - ENABLE ( install and activate )
GTR2 MAP PLUGIN v1.08 - DISABLE ( temporarily disable )
GTR2 MAP PLUGIN Optional ( Userdata\YourName\PLR shared memory= swap )

Like #40 RESTORE SETTINGS AFTER REBORN you have to manual edit
and include files to the Optional MOD

I not sure to add #_01 to #_09 in front of #00 Essentials next update.

Don't want to confuse people but makes more sense to me to be at top of list.

See some mods you can make that are basic to different type of installs ( track linker etc) along with some yet to receive permission mods as well less MAP PLUGIN



#_03 TALENT DEFAULT is #40 RESTORE TALENT AFTER REBORN renamed

#_04 CARS DEFAULT mods I use with #_00 GTR2 STANDALONE - EXTREME
That standalone GTR2 has no Cars, Tracks, gdb or talent.
Will boot to menu as long as you link 1 track and include 1 GDB mod

To use most of the mods at top remove the corresponding files from your standalone GTR2
before activation then replace back if and when needed

You have a bit of manual work to do this time

I got to admit for someone never ever used a 3rd party plugin I was impressed swapping combos of HUDS with Maps and XD.

Really good, I must have swapped a few dozen combos with zkarz MODS
and booted them all in no time.

So in my estimation it is worth it, besides you would have to do basically the same manual edits / backups in a non JSGME install.


P.S. I only had permission for GTR2Map at this time but this will update the combos to latest XD
no permissions broken.

To smart guys reading this, would be cool if you could make GEMFX and SweetFX MODS and presets to hook various combos ( I know little of this and will Credit all help )

Pack to omit all no permission files and leave link, same as I did with XD

GTR2 Essentials and JSGME are a boon. They make it easy for me to choose mods and install/delete them at will. Yet more good work from DurgeDriven and GTR233.

That is all Essentials needs positive reinforcement so more try it ......so they will then make more mods for us to add.

Heaps out there to do, the amount of handy combo mods is astronomical.
So get permissions people and we will add.

There is no limit and better still Essentials does not need to be one huge pack.

It can even be broken up even across sim sites to get around various permissions.

GTR2 Essentials "Base Pack" is No Grip material.

That does not say someone can't do the same thing on any site they like as long as they make the Mod and Packages integrate 100% with Essentials Base.

880 NoGrip GTR2 skins with their own series and class to runs with the 100 car mods
Not a single skin infects any other FIA or GT type series.
*** Using TextCrawler you can very rapidly re-class a whole new mod or point cars to another series.
I used a filter with only 6 characters so is simple as base to edit and add other classes
It took me years to get any 100 skins work with any other 100 but now with JSGME
you can change 1000 cars classses in 1 second.


300+ mods and that barely scratches the surface of what is possible I think anyways

Anyone interested in Credits for a new mod package for v1.6

A few quick swap combos of the HQ HEADLIGHT and HQ DAYTIME HEADLIGHTS mods would be cool.

That is type of mod you get most benefit from with up to 28 files to replace.

To test: windowed mode with JSGME open , straight to race / session, check mod, close, swap mods, back to Race all of a minute.

Struggling for content, need more permissions

Hope that is not more confusing for novice, read the Tutorial should be okay.

At least no downloads with permissions now from Yako and aSa, very grateful.
So those mods already packed saves a little more hassle.

When using Basic or Standalone always pick a GDB, Anniversary does not have GDB in it
so you can pick between custom gdb.

If you only use Basic or do not like the idea of multi gdb fine, that is the whole idea of Essentials...total choice

1. Drag GameData from #_04 GDB 10TH ANNIVERSARY back into #11 GTR2 HQ CARS & TRACKS - 10TH ANNIVERSARY

Idiot I don't know what made me do it but I renumbered the mirror mods to a single number
which has thrown the sizes all out of order in JSGME window ( not in explorer ) doh !

Easy to fix, delete all the mirrors you do not want OR renumber them smallest to biggest
#50 through to #58 as I originally had them doh !

A small bug, when you first activate player and different GDB you may
not see full menu in GTR2 first boot, exit and restart will fix it.
Once a player has all gdb activated though it won't happen again unless you swap players.
So make sure to update the player mods after full activation and first session.

When you install 40 mods in one hit to Standalone GTR2 to make sure JSGME completes activation do 2 things.

1. After you click the right arrow don't move your mouse again whatsoever

2. As soon as you get the first overwrite warning put your mouse over "YES" , click and don't move the mouse again so pointer stays on "YES" next overwrite comes up click YES again, etc till overwrites stop.

IF you move your mouse about the page the mods will stop activating at the first overwrite.

Weird little bug if you do how I said it will install 100 mods in one go no problems.

Obviously doing Basic JSGME you get no overwrites warnings at all.
I call it the "cheap and nasty" method. lol

Should take 30 to 60 seconds to activate depending on HDD and 10 seconds to de-activate

After first full de-activation delete the files in UserData that are created which you have already updated in your player mods, next deactivation there should not be any files only the template.
If you use a new gdb userdata will be left behind again, update the player mods again with files and delete the orphans.

Anytime you see orphan files after a full de-activation means they need to be modded
and deleted out of template.

It actually is a great way of catching things you have missed when you add custom mods etc

Yeah that OvGME has the features but not the implementation

It is like whoever did it just threw the best part of JSGME out with the bathwater.

Overwritten mods in OvGME are not greyed out and you can uninstall them
anytime

I may be dumb but someone please explain to me why they would do that

Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and OvGME that is lauded as the new improved JSGME without the basic overwrite features it is as useless as tits on bull.

I still not happy I left a doubled up HQ AI v2.0 just so #14 was not missing ....doh lol

I am up for any idea for renaming or numbering the lot, whatever.

Like to nail some more stuff for v2.0

I do have a silly compomise but I don't like it

Use JSGME for the Base package with one standalone GTR2
That will be under 4GB to add to all GTR2 folders

Then Use 1 OvGME for all the car mods that do not overwrite each other
That way you can keep all the big mods in archives not in each GTR2

It is the the only hassle with JSGME you can't pick a custom MOD folder.

Still better then manual installs any which way you look at it.


P.S. I was thinking of developing PnG Essentials further but I need permissions to do more then I have.

Could do all languages with old and new ui, showrooms, everything packed nice and you could make Custom HQ Collection too p

Maybe even sound packs personally tweaked and packed by authors, now that would be cool.

I got to say I surprised by total lack of bug reports, expecting someone to jump on me

I mean I can't have possibly tested all combos or got it all right.

Do you know how many there are !

I gave up counting at 28 x 27 x 26 .........


Default GTR2 alone I have 120+ combos with standalones, players, gdbs, talents
Add HUD mod = 8,400 combos , 1,200 in English

Even Essentials has 24 combos ( if you do track linker standalone ) before you start
Add HUD mod = 1680 combos
