If it is a fictional circuit i can look at it. Got the layout now in BTBEvo. 6489m. Have to add some height differences in it (Swiss!)

Do you have a deadline to finish the circuit?

Do you?
It depends what do you want with that circuit? I think that it will take 2 months to build a decent track. btw: i am not the so called "Eye candy"-track builder. I build decent tracks to RACE on.

Can you give me the files to see how you're doing?

Erwin is a capable trackmaker. Give him the two months to see what he comes up with because a work in progress will NOT be satisfying.

Indeed.

The first task is to get the height diffences to work well. Like i said earlier, i am not going for the eye candy trophy. I have seen tracks which look marvelous but are simply not race tracks.

I hope to have a good track around the end of January.

Or an idea: let more track builders come up with a version of this track.

I created this circuit layout, but I do not know how to make tracks, I asked someone else to do it.
You are allowed to do whatever you want with this layout.

Looks very good ... You can try to get inspired by the surroundings of the old Bremgarten circuit

I want to try to get a nice wooded section. Pity is that it is for GTR2. Blending is not supported in BTBEvo.

The pitlane will have a feature which i have not done before. It will have stalls at both sides of the pitlane.

Yes, there will be some curbs.

Btw: because of having a bit of troubles with some xpacks the works on the track have been delayed a bit.

This is how far the works are.

One pitbuilding is ready.
Another has to be build. The marshal posts are finished and they are all numbered 1 - 28.

All the corners have their names on shields.

Terrain will be worked at. Problem that BTB Evo does not support blending.

Following this thread gives an indication of just how much work goes into building a track from scratch... thanks for the work and the insight Erwin!

Getting near completing the track.
To do:
Adding marshalls and objects.
Grandstands and spectators.
curbs at certain places.
AIW. Pitstalls at both sides of the pitlane
Camera's plus positions.
Merging tracks and objects. (which is not new to me in rFactor, but is in GTR2)

Yes. when you follow the whole thread, you can see it is for GTR2/GT Legends and Race 07. Further it will be released for rFactor.

If you can do 3DS work, it is easy to grab some swiss mountains form GoogleEarth,
and set them up as objects, then import them using X-packs.

You are near my location, could help if necessary.
Or might be able to do it if I get my new PC set up this weekend...
(that is, if the whole lot works on Windows 10).

I have done it before, it works great. You can:

- import landscapes from Google Earth in Sketchup;
- then export from Sketchup to 3DSmax (or whatever you use);
- now you have the 'structure', get the 'air photo' from Google Earth as well;
- UV-map it to the landscape and export as 3DS.

Now you have a mountain, of whatever - and you can put it in an X-pack.
You can also use the textures for the rest of the track (one time loaded, they require no more memory).
And you can clip pieces of the mountain and use them in the terrain.

Clipping is easy, load the whole mountain in 3DsimEd, chop whatever you do not need, export as 3Ds, put in X-pack, use in BTB.

I suppose you do not need 3DSmax, and can do it in Sketchup as well.

Meanwhile, I managed to install PaintShopPro (my preferred painting proggy).
And looks like BTB will run as well on W10...

Now 3DSmax and Google Earth and 3DsimEd and Sketchup... then I'm back in bizz.

Edit: BTB, 3DSmax and G-Earth running... Wow it looks good too.

Look here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xw1fcGiDFs
I could snip some mountains if you like and make them X-packs.
You can then just insert them in the track. Alternatively, mountains can be set up to fit the track.

Also, there is an alternative to the 'lerp-alpha' color-mixing that rFactor allows.
You must use 'add'. But it is complicated and can only be done using 3DSmax and 3DsimEd.

Will work on that.
Btw: this is the first track i build entirely in BTB Evo. I never did that before. And it seems to react on certain things much differently than BTB Pro.
