Had to create a new folder with completely different name to get it to work.

don't know why, in my mmmsandown folder i have 4 different named tracks and they all work fine.

the six files I mentioned are in here 4 times with the new track names on each one and each track gdb file (not championship file) has the appropriate name in the very first line of each track gdb file

eg in sand_rev.gdb
first line is
rev_sand

I have become aware by re-reading this topic that there seems to be a limit of some sort on the number of lines you can have in a championship gdb file.

Is anyone absolutely sure of what that limit is ?

Reason being I am making a quite extensive V8 supercar championship and at this stage need to list 41 tracks so as to fit in all the double and triple races of varying distances, hence I need a knowledgeable answer and not a guestimate thanks guys/gals

question 2 involves skippractice1 skipqualifying1. Do I have to put this in each track in the championship gdb where I don't want practice1 etc for that race or can I just not put it in those details at all

I think you can only specify skipping sessions for the entire championship.

I thought so, I've been trying all sorts of ways to do it and may have to edit each track gdb to get the effect I want. Just means if I run a race weekend whatever the track gdb says is what I will have. - I think. Thanks for the feedback

I created a custom championship and at the end of 25 races or whatever it was, I was pretty happy with the results. I've been amazed at how much you can change from just the .gdb file itself!

Second time around I've decided to tweak a few things - swapping a few tracks in and out, running the races over the Formula 1 equivalent distance instead of 90 minutes, increasing the pit lane speed limit, upping the difficulty and for an extra challenge, a car I've never driven before!

What I'd like to know is what possibilities are there for changing the qualifying format? With all the other tweaks I've done in both GTR2 Championship Manager and the actual .gdb file itself, it's not something I've ever really investigated

One option that interests me is to run Q1 and Q2 as effectively two one lap shootouts. I'd limit the number of laps to three (out/hot/in) with a shorter duration of maybe 15 minutes. Would be exciting but I'd be concerned about all the AI cars going on track at the same time! Any thoughts on that?

An elimination format would also be a great challenge, but I really don't know if it's possible.

What parameters can I change or add in the .gdb file for qualifying sessions?

Hello,

I've read the whole thread (more than once - it is very informative ), but I do have a problem with restricting the grid on a specific track (getting a random grid).

I'm making an ALMS 2000 championship, when verifying the championship Sebring looked to be fine as grid selection, but I hit a problem with Watkins Glen (replacement for Charlotte Road Course which I couldn't find).

So I stripped the championship to bare minimum to concentrate on just this track. But whatever I tried does not seem to help.

All expected cars show up correctly when using GLEN filter for Race Weekend on same Watkins Glen Long V3 track (with opponents count set to 22, the 23rd is my car from the same class filter).

But in the championship I get a random 23-car ALMS_2000-class grid (GLEN filter is being ignored)

Any ideas what else may be affecting track class restriction in championship??

Sry if this has been answered already but I know how to setup a custom race with Tom's tools etc. but still some cars are not in the pit they actually should be in , they are mixed up but some are correct (even both cars of a team, I'm on F1 1994). And is it possible to setup the starting order manually without qualifying by editing some files, i.e, if I want an historic starting grid which AI will not be able to create!?

Pit assignments are controlled by the "PitGroup=" line in the .car file and the pit data in the track .aiw file, but I've no idea exactly how (as long as the AI pit, and they are not in my pit, I'm satisfied).

Possible? yes. Feasible? not to my knowledge.
The starting grid is contained in an encrypted file created at the end of the qualifying session (and deleted after the race), I've never heard of anyone editing this file.

This really stucks me!

- When omitting RaceTime-parameter for each race event, point scoring and weight penalty works perfectly, but race is full race lenght!

- When setting RaceTime-parameter for each race event - race lenght is correct (20 mins), but no point scorings nor weight penalties are given after each race!

Any clue?

OK figured it out myself. So even though the Game Option -> Race Distance = 'Time', still the costum championship single events relies on 'Laps', it seems.

Hence, the the solution was as follows:

Default Disabling Practices, Qualifications and Warmups?

Hi,
First, just want to say infinite thank yous for everyone making those gdb but just this question, is it possible to disable the practices, qualifications and warmups for 24H races? The reason is because I'm making a custom made Le Mans 24 Hours and it contains many cars that exceed garage spots. If I start, the cars will be messed up on track and in pit lane or even worse I could get a CTD but when I go straight to race there is no problem and all cars are on the grid. So here's what I did :

24H_LeMans.gdb (copy of 24H_Monza2004.gdb)
24H_LeMans.txt (copy of 24H_Monza2004.txt)

In the 24H_LeMans.gdb I deleted the practices, qualifications and warmups lines

Got a little query. I have made my GDB's so there is a standard "full season" roster and then "add-on" ones for tracks. However I cannot get these working. For instance:

Full season is "FIAFULL". Extra cars for Dubai is "FIADub". Extra cars for Catalaunya are "FIACat". When I go to Dubai in Championship with and with the standard GDB filter set as "AI Vehicle Filter = "FIADub", I am still getting cars from "FIACat" showing. Do I need to an entry in every car file for each round it will contest?

Default GTR2 Custom champ crashing

Hello.

To confirm i'm not spamming this thread. YES I was having this same problem in GTL a few months ago and despite several replies to my post I could not solve it and eventually gave up... now I'm on GTR2 and have followed this tutorial but i'm getting a similar problem to the one i had with GT Legends.

My custom championships are crashing either when i hit 'start' or, at the loadscreen of round 1.

I've used all of the location scenes in other race modes so i know all the tracks load and function properly.

When creating the championship I added the class BRIT_1 to 22 car files and BRIT_2 to 12 making a total of 34 cars. However, only 1 car appears on the car list.

I was given some advice on the GTL forum but was unable to solve the problem there so I'm pasting the details of my GTR2 custom SIM .gbd below.

If anyone can look through the data and see what I've done wrong that may be causing the game to crash i'd love to know, thanks.

Many thanks to all the contributors who built the added circuits and car skins, and to the teams behind this project. I'm not a gamer, i have a dell laptop with only two games on it, GTL and GTR2. I'm an ex Racing driver who unfortunately due to finances hung up his sparcos a long time ago, but i thoroughly enjoy this SIM, so THANKYOU !!!! To all those who helped build it.

If i could manage to solve this custom champ problem i'd be as happy as the proverbial pig.

Here's the other one. Used the TWO NATIONS .gdb, altered the number of opponents from 13 to 33 and added the CC004 class to 20 more NGT .car files, changed the scenes to include my choice of tracks. Race start times. 40 Laps. Altered the relevant info in the accompanying text file.

Everything shows up as supposed to. All 33 opponent cars appear.

Click load... Load screen for round one appears, game crashes half way through loading round 1.

Concerning the above. To confirm. From information gained in other threads I tried to add trace=1000 to the .exe shortcut but i get a pop up

The name .... .exe specified in the target box is invalid. Make sure path and file name is correct.

I've also added the 4gb patch.

I believe I've solved the problem, by accidentally stumbling upon it.

I had added cars to the custom championship which were carskins i'd downloaded. All cars show up in the CAR model selection list for the championship but some did not have a rotating 3d graphic.

I removed those cars by deleting the championship info from their .car file 'classes' data. Now all my custom championships are running fine.

I don't know why this is the cause, perhaps someone involved in building carskins etc can explain why, but I recommend before adding any 'unoriginal' cars to your custom championships, select each car in 'open weekend' first and verify you see a 3d rotating graphic of the car in the model select screen. If not, don't add that car to your championship.

Are you sure you have the cars for the car skins? You have to download the cars to run the skins. Sometimes there are several versions of a car, which makes it difficult if it isn't state in the read me. The 993 GT2 for example.....half a dozen or more versions of this car running around. Or a car could get updated meaning if the skin was done for an older version, it won't work on the newer version. WSGT Ultima...BPR F40 and more.

With downloaded models I've sometimes found .car files trying to point to physics, 3D, engine, tyres or other files, but with an incorrect file name or a slight spelling mistake.

Its an error I've made myself in past releases, where someone's game will crash because I've had a .car file pointing to an unrelesed/'test' version engine/physics file which wouldn't have existed on anyone else's PC.

Caribstu - probably a daft point but always worth double checking, make sure each skin you want to include has the appropriate tracks added to their .car files along with the championship/class name.

Hey guys!

I used the SCC Mod to begin new championship, the LMES 2004 season, with Monza, Nurburgring, Silverstone and Spa.

Except the cars I don't have, like the Lolas with Caterpillar Diesel engine, the Intersport Lola and Lucchini, all the rest are from the mod and GT pack.

To make the championship realistic as possible, I have specified the tracks for each one cars. Example: the #11 Larbre Panoz only ran in Spa-Francorchamps like the #87 Larbre Ferrari.

I began with Monza race and the 37 selected cars are ok, but for the next race (Nurburgring), some cars doesn't appear - the Ferrari trio (#92, #70 and #97) and various Porsches (#84, #50, #90, #71, #79).

So, the #11 Larbre Panoz and #87 Larbre Ferrari does, and other ones like #34 Pilbeam prototype, the #14 Nasamax Reynard, #22 Zytek, #9 Kondo Dome, the #41 and #89 TVRs and #24 Spinnaker Dallara.

What's wrong? I need a help.

In your championship GDB file do you also specify a limit on the number of cars for each race? For example Monza can feature more than 37 cars, so sometimes the game gets muddled up if a limit isn't forced.

Could you also quote/post your championship GDB file here? May be able to see what's causing your issues.

I'm back guys, with other problem. I try to make an Intercontinental Le Mans Cup with all cars - ILMC properly, and Le Mans, ALMS, ELMS and Zhuhai cars, but it's not ok.
