Default R.i.P. Lower Level

Today i received word from Canada that my friend Den, aka Lower Level, has passed away in hospital after complications from a surgery he had 2 weeks ago.

He has been in ill health for quite some time, and some of you might have noted that he hadn't released any new GTL TC-65 skins for quite some time now.

I had the pleasure of meeting him personally 2 years ago and he's left an everlasting impression on me (even before the meet we had a ball!).
He's one of the gentler souls you will meet in life, a soul who wishes others well, be it he's having a bad day, but chugging on nonetheless. Trying to look up, where life was beating him down.
He's had a hard run at life, used his body up in the process and loved the simracing community. He shared his skins here and enjoyed the fact that others enjoyed his work. He'd loved what he did and did what he loved whenever he could.

Rest in Peace, Den

His Wife asked me to setup a Memorial Race in his Honor.
I'll post in this thread the when's and where's and the what's (tc-65's in GTLEgends were his favorites) or ask for your help if i cannot manage it alone.

YOu are very welcome to join us, the few friends he kept into contact with, and share your stories or just race yer car with us.

Woof ~ Woof & Salute!

Sad news indeed, I didn't know him but I did send him a template when he was trying to paint my Lotus 7 a few years ago. Just a few years younger than myself and fighting poor health, my thoughts go out your family at this difficult time. Rest well Den.

That's sad news, always came across as a nice guy in his regular posts, seemed of a sunny disposition despite his health issues.

Condolences to his family and his regular contributions will be missed.

Very sad news.

I remember reading here in NG of his health complications and his surgery a couple of years ago, then his slow recovery with ups and downs, and how he always seemed to be spirited and grateful, regardless of it all.

In truth, I can not say that I was a friend of Den but, for the times we communicated through the years, he seemed to be a really nice fella.
I'm absolutely sure that all of you got the same impression.

My deepest condolences to his family and also his friends, many of which are in here and in the SimJunkies community.

Rest in peace, Den.

Sad news indeed.

Though I've had no dealings with Den, through years of reading through the forums, I know that he was a kind and generous man, happy to help or knock up a skin on request. One of those gentle characters that make this forum a nice place to be.

God bless Sir. Sincere condolences to his family.

Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear that. I didn't know him, but in seeing his posts here it was also impressive and inspiring to see his matter-of-fact honesty about health struggles which would have led lesser people to give up long ago and his positive attitude and friendliness in the midst of all that. It is a great inspiration to a younger man of how I want to handle whatever may lie ahead!

Very sad to hear - I'm not sure I ever spoke to him much directly but he was one of the long-time familiar faces around the community who always had something positive to say. RIP mate.

Like so many here have said, I enjoyed his contributions to many conversations.

It was nice to see the vehicles that he enjoyed so much, on a public forum without

any negativity either way. He must have been a very nice humble man. I feel fortunate

he shared that with everyone.

A person from whom learning the difficult art of living.
I never had chance to enjoy his work, but I always admired his peculiar posts which revealed a joyful free spirit, this although his health was declining - he succesfully showed us death has never the last word if we want to do things differently... sometimes life let us know it's only emptyness the real death of a person! I would p(r)ay for having his spirit in my days, too.

Thanks Den!

Upon special request from the grieving widow Kathleen, I was tasked to invite you all to partissipate in an evening of races in honor of our lost simracing-member: SJ_Den aka DenDanger aka AnarchistGarage

Dennis had been struggling with a failing heart but kept on being positive, whenever he could he would do a "couple of laps at Goodwood in GtLegends" .... so, in honor of him, we will do the same, a couple of laps at a time followed by lots of practice!

the venue: Gt-Legends
the date: Saterday, July 22
the time: Anywhere between 7 pm and 11pm GMT
the cars: TC-65
the track: Goodwood by MotorFX http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=3182
We will vote for the 6 lap-races to start, untill that time, practice just continue.

All are welcome with default skins (Sorry Den), as there are multiple communities he partissipated in, i'd like to keep the mismatching to a minimum so anyone can join in.

Woof ~ Woof & See you next saterdayevening!
