Are you still trying promote Forza?

It is gonna be less than it could or should be. I believe it could make very good improvements regarding online racing. It has some good models to draw inspiration from. But it won't have day/night cycles. Or true weather, a Mistake, or design choice, Assetta Corsa also made, unfortunately.

It seems to me that, Forza is falling into the Gran Turismo trap. Having built up a franchise they're now stuck trying to keep the lowest common denominator happy. Which usually means more substantial innovations are back burnered for another installment. Which results in good changes either not happening, or happening too slowly.

I do wish Forza could pull itself more toward the sim side of their simcadey nature. They've been going a bit more cadey since Forza 4.

The talk I've heard, and read, points to many improvements. But, having switched to Sony from Microsoft this latest generation, I can only speak from the outside of the Forza Bandwagon. I don't know all the goods and bads of Forza 5 and 6.

However, I saw many parallels between Forza 4, and Gran Turismo 4, both of which represent the last installment of each series that I have played. I have also read many parallels between Forza 5 and 6, and Gran Turismo 5 and 6.

It's strange how these things happen. For their differences, they do seem to track similarly down the same path.

I suspect an underlying cause creating this simularity.

Underpants Gnomes

Step 1- collect poke cars.

Step 2- store poke cars.

Step 3- ????

Step 4- Profit.

Forza was always a simcade type game, Assetto Corsa is a simulator from the start, comparing these two is kinda pointless, it's like comparing ArmA and CoD, the only thing that these games have in common is that they are FPS games, same goes with FM and AC, both are racing games, that's all. Forza games are for console players, they are easy to learn, and not that difficult to master, not like simulators like AC which are for enthusiast, and people who enjoy games like this, most people dont have that much time and desire to learn everything from the beginning, they just want to select car, track, and do some decent lap times, that's all. Simulators have always been for niche, games like FM and GT are for players who like to drive as well, only not in a "hardcore" way like in games such as AC or rF.

There's no sense in comparing these games, it's like comparing apples to oranges - they are both fruits, but they have different taste. It's pointless.

Each game Forza series sells pretty good, I've never heard about that some good has bad sales (maybe except FM5, but this one was more focused on micro-transactions, so it didnt went well for Turn10 for it). And changes - they are being made in every game, mostly they are not that big, but in FM7 there will be a dynamic weather for example, and better career mode comparing to FM6. And Gran Turismo? It's come to a deadlock since GT5, and GT Sport doesnt look like it's gonna change very much in this case. Turn10 is releasing Forza games every year and they are very good in their category, and Polyphony do almost nothing with it, which is kind of sad actually.

The inclusion of Forza horizon, and changes made to Forza 4 from Forza 3, plus the things I've read about Forza 5 and 6, point to Forza emphasizing the arcade side, as opposed to its sim side.
