Default Career mode class D: David & Goliath pt.3

Has anyone ever finished this championship?
It's driving me nuts.

So, this championship lets you choose between the Escort RS and the Porsche 914. I choose the Escord as the 914 is even more underpowered.

You are being put against 2 Porsche 911's, the BMW CSL, Porsche 906, the fastest Corvette, fastest of the Pantera (yellow one) and the white/blue Capri RS.

A very challenging field and apparently too challenging for me. Only 2 rounds of 5 laps on Imola and Spa.

There's just no way I'm ever going to win this on the hardest level. Since my challenge is getting platinum cup on all challenges I'm pretty annoyed now.

If anyone ever won it (platinum) please let me know since I start to think it's impossible. Winning it will give you the Pantera as a bonus I believe wich would be a nice extra..

thanks for the support If it can be done I should be able to do it as well

So yesterday I gave it another try. On the first attempts at Imola I qualified 5th every time and on the standing start I could never win any position making it impossible to get on the podium.

So I checked the hotlaps section on this site to see what times should be possible and seems my 2.06 was not far off but could be improved on.
Some more practice and setup improvement got me down to a 2.05.2 wich gave me P3 on the grid. After the start I was in 4th (That Corvette is really quick off the line ) but I managed to work my way forward and by the 4th lap I was able to make a move on the then leading Pantera.

Though challenge but I won it! On to Spa wich I think will be even tougher with it's 2 long straights.

On Spa you have chance to get 1st @ turn 1, AI is slow in middle section and Eau Rouge. Good luck mate! Check our GTL online races too, you more than welcome. http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/sh...39#post1945739

Just a quick post to let you guys know I made it! I started P2 I believe, had a decent start but still the AI is extremely good off the line. reaction time seems zero for these guys and wheelspin is something they have never heard of.
Meaning I came out off Eau Rouge in P3 but my pace was good so after Blanchimont I could take P2 and a lap later I got the Pantera for P1.

Could not create a gap to the Pantera and Corvette and in lap 4 I went wide in Blanchimont, the Pantera made a move on the inside but screwed it, we made contact, he spun and the Corvette ran into him. Both fell back and the CSL took their place finishing 2nd

good fight but I prefer more equal cars and a fast AI to make for some though racing.

That'll feel like cheating wich I don't want to do. Want to finish the career mode the way it was meant to be played. After I've done that I'm going to mod my game and create all new career challenges. More series, more and longer races, more (and preferably faster) AI, new tracks and new cars.

Indeed they haven't, the AI get at least twice the amount of grip that you have. Talk about cheating... On the other hand, all they get for setup is more fuel and a longer final drive. Have you ever watched them recover, when they are on the grass or in a sandbox....

If you do, be sure to study the 'talent files'. In that you can set the agressiveness for braking and overtaking of specific drivers.
Remember to set the AI grip level as well... and give them YOUR setup for each car and track.
