I thought we're talking about the current verion (rF), not the outdated one (F1C).

Since we're currently busy with the rF->GTL/GTR2/Race07 conversions, I thought he's talking about a leaked version.

My fault and misunderstanding..

cheers,
Uwe

Well I'm assuming he meant that one.

It was the only version I new of apart from the earlier unauthorised releases of that particular one.

Porto and Vara Raceway.
- Both tracks will show if you have any of your self protection instinct left. Crazy fast and lots of very dark corners with switches to different size roads.

DerDumeKlemmer: Porto seems to have small problem with pit in drive way.... with Mini AI tries to drive the car about a 2 meters too left and so hits all the time the fence. Luckily Mini did not tipped over and when the real pit starts everything works okay.

yep thats the one I meant

Lakeside is great fun too. One day we may see 'regular' racing there again. Better than that paperclip track at Willowbank (Queensland raceway)

Lakeside is a lot of fun, one of my favourites.

I'm actually trying to do a more 1967 version, but other things keep getting in the way.

I love the old Circuit de Charade. It is a nice and fast (in parts) track. Only the AI are very slow (not only in GTL). Old Sachsenring, Solitude and Schottenring are also in my list of favourites.

I've recently downloaded Lipton and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's a lot of fun with the smaller cars and has some good camera angles too.

While some have included the odd original GTL track I would like to nominate the originals. Don't get me wrong, I love the old tracks, but typically they are conversions of GPL tracks. They don't usually reach the modelling standards of the original tracks and miss out on bumps and live-track. The other thing is the chicanes in the original tracks tend to give the slower but more nimble cars a chance against the heavier faster cars.

Well, when racing I'm concentrating on the track and the other cars, not gawking at the scenery, so I don't mind if the graphics are dated. Also, this is actually a complaint against those doing the conversions, not the tracks themselves. Some people do a straight conversion so the result is fifteen year old graphics; others keep little more than the track map and create everything else new, so you get current level graphics. As for bumps, again it is a matter of whether the person doing the conversion wants to add them.

Bottom line, I'd rather have a track with dated graphics than not have that track at all.

That was fine for teaching how to make use of a car's strengths. But one aspect of that struck me as unrealistic - pitting 100hp cars against 400hp cars in one class. I spent untold hours driving the different cars, default and add-on, on a couple of tracks to get an idea of their average lap times, then created my own classes based on that. (FTR, I have a near default GTL - just some extra tracks and replacement sounds - solely for doing the Challenge Cups, and a highly modded install for all else.)

Also, I haven't tried all tracks in GTL, but some of my favourites are:
Le Mans
Targa Florio
Nordschleife
Oulton Park
Charade (old, long one)
Zandvoort (old one)
Interlagos (old one)
Laguna Seca
Le Mans du Clos
Limerock
Donington
Vila Real
Brands Hatch
Willow Springs
Moorlands and Stonesprings (fictional, but both great!)

I like my tracks with lots of natural curves and humps, just like my women.

Have you tried Machwerk? A fictional track based on real country roads in Germany, originally created for GPL years ago but has been converted to nearly every sim since.

Hope you don't mind but as my GTL comes in the form of GTL-GTR2 I figured I'd chip in, so...
Gendinne 2011 is great fun and feels longer than it is 2:10- 2:20 for the Anglia's I love so much there.
Others would be 60s/80s British club circuits and French club circuits, I feel that they suit the age of the car better, and over late I've been hitting Goodwood and cursing the gravel along the long back bend, having a big Falcon forcing me wide is a bummer there!

In no particular order

Grand Sambuc
Folembrey
DuVar
Issorie
Gedinne 2011
Goodwood
Ingliston
Mallory
Crystal Palace
Aintree
Pembrey
Cadwell
Hitchen... fictional

while I agree with all the Nords, Targa, Brno65, Spa67 et all I feel that it's the little un's that get overlooked

As ever Pete

No I haven't, but thank you, I'm downloading now, seems great!

This is why, as some others here were expressing as well, I don't really like Zolder, because it's just a flat surface that someone drew some corners on it. I like tracks that follow the topography of the site, just flow naturally through it like a river, so you can just contour what is coming in a very instinctive way!

Which is why I hate most street circuits, airport circuits, and modern F1 tracks.
