That's it, I'm in no hurry so I will try converting it myself and snatching the right rims from somewhere for it. I've never done a conversion though so it'll be interesting

Some of the JGTC versions of the skins have already been done by PassiveObsessive, these might help you for the FIA GT versions. You can find most of his skins and JGTC packs here at NoGrip.

I made a quick conversion from RF mod... 3D model is good, but you have to remap it completely coz current one is unusable !!!

Dont like double posting but I'll keep it alive.

Luckily the one picture I have of this car is fairly good plus Passive's help with logos, Suzuka entries almost done.

Any help would be appreciated whatever it may be. My focus right now is getting the Suzuka entries done which I have only have 1 car left to skin besides the NSX which is WIP.

The GT1 Grid is already half completed based off previous skins I've found that are decent quality so thats the next focus unti l start tackling the massive GT2 field.

Some of the races on YouTube have good shots of them. For instance the one off entry of Remus Racing has a good shot of it in the video of the whole car because it blew up much like I got a good shot for the Ability Motorsport Porsche for the same reason haha.

For the Supra, do you have this photo already, correct?

Stumbled upon it by chance as I was looking for another car.

Yea I have that one. Supra is done though with all the other Suzuka entries except for the NSX. Currently working on the #17 Labre Porsche which I had to make my own template for which took a lot of time.

What model did you use for the Silvia then? For the 1998 race, they technically ran with a 1994 S14 (rather than the "proper" 1998 S15 for some reason), but as far as I'm aware the only S14 that comes close to that still doesn't have the proper body because it's a drifting spec car.

That, or my suggestion would've been to take a tuned S15 and fake it on there directly.

It's from trackaholics with a couple changes I've done, I might revisit it later on to make a few more tweaks.

Curious to see what you've done with that then.

Bitter repainted on the Lister GTL I assume? Other than the Peugeot 406 rearlights, it doesn't need much else for a placeholder look-a-like.

Yup basically the same thing Street Racer did a couple pages back. The Silvia is basically a grid filler and it's the US spec front end which is a bit disappointing but it's still an S14 atleast.

I did a bitter. I did it on the elise. You're welcome to use them how you wish. For me it doesn't look correct on the lister....if anything it would look better on the mc12.

Idk what i want to use yet but I'll figure it out. I still got the Zakspeed Porsches and Panoz to do (which btw what is the best Panoz GT1 model for GTR2?)

Maaaaaan. You're like a machine
For Panoz, maybe there's a conversion of the GTR-1 from rFactor.

In general I get a car done every 3 days. Really just depends on how many pictures and logos I find. I might also try to put new rims on the lister/bitter aswell.

Ideally if it could be converted from Project CARS 2 that would be the most realistic looking Panoz, imho. (Same with the ‘98 R390 GT1 Longtail) All the other versions I’ve seen just don’t look right.

Well there is a Panoz mod, it's still the best I guess.

As for the Bitter. You can remove some of the front lights on the Elise, which makes it more authentic and maybe lengthen it? Like Veron is doing on 'aholics'.

I really don't think using a front engine car to replicate a rear engine car is the way to go imo.

Im not a 3d modeler, I just know how to replace things lol. I have 3dsMax and Catia V5, I just dont know how to use any of it (yet). Regardless I have to change the rims on F302's lotus and paint them which painting rims with no shading template takes along time.

But I guess this will do....

It'll have the same texture that it originally does. Only drawback is the 3rd brakelight is gonna look a bit messed up.

I also tried painting over the small light only to find out both headlights use the same texture so I cant do that either.

Or something like this.

It's not optimal because the Elise GT1 is "rounded" and the Bitter GT1 was more "squared" so there are some gaps and clipping issues, but if the intent is to make a gridfiller, it might be better than nothing.

Yeah....I've been there, and deliberated over it. The round lights won't look good with those lights. I really think you should download mine and check it out. For me (as person who can only skin) I think I made the best choices.

Until I actually know how to model it Im gonna abandon trying to modify the model since it requires moving of a bunch of other parts to make it work and thats more work than what I'm willing to put in. So for now its just getting new rims.

I was wondering what model you were using for the Saleen Mustang, I know a mod on a french forum that had Cirtek's 1998 version of the car if you needed it:

Yep, you can find it in the Le Mans 1998 mod available at GTRacers.

And since post #300 of this thread, I reworked model and skin, so if there is some interest for it (don't forget that 3D is very low poly), I can work on FIA livery...

I'm not satisfied by my shading layer : I have many aliasing errors during the bake, and artifacts whith overlapping uv's... Seems yours look much better, so it's great !!!

There are no Templates for any of the SCC Proto's so i have to make it because its the best looking model.

Anyways is there a way to just get the shading and not the whole Gray if that makes any sense? Like you can see in the thumbnail of the layer that it looks like the whole side of the car is a solid color. Cause right now i have to set the shading layer to multiply and it works but it makes stuff really dark and ive seen on other templates were it is nice gradients like you were using the actual gradient tool to do everything and it looks better.

I ran into a few issues though since i have to bake it twice for both Body1 and 2.

The learning curve is immense and very intimidating. I only have one good reference image i can use, the rest would just be guess work. Im pretty much gonna watch a bunch of tutorials before I go ahead and give it a true shot but hey, atleast i dont have to touch 1/3rd of the car

Hard work pays off sometimes lol, making that template and shading layer took way longer than actually making the skin.

The real problem you will be facing will be finding the right procedure to insert modified .3DS model into the GTR2 - the real hassle is in the file conversion as I found out with my brief experience. The drawback of a seemingly very comfy direct model conversion (3DS Max -> 3DSim Ed) is in destroying the polygonal model itself (well, the model isn't really destroyed it by the conversion, it just become... 'foggy', and lose its detail).

Perhaps you also plan to use Blender to convert the .3DS file you are working with in order to have a problem-free .GMT file conversion with 3D Sim Ed?

Although I haven't yet exported a .3DS file from Blender to 3D Sim Ed, I am quite sure that it should theoretically work without problems: my 3DS Max 2015 is instead way too modern for a direct conversion to an old 3D Sim Ed version; this while the other software it's not only free, but I've read of people working with it in GTR2 that successfully exported models into the sim.

Well, long intervention short: should you find a way to securely convert the model into a .GMT, please do let me know!!!

P.s.: PSP for the template, isn't it? I still rely on my old (yet official) Paint Shop Pro 7 (bought in... 2004! )
