Default TCL glitches

So, there's been a few TCR updates. I'd love to install them if it weren't for these obstacles.

Can anyone help me fix them?

Where's your DirectX set at? Some of these mods demand 9 and even having it on auto isn't good enough.

Customize\Setting\Display

You can increase your car and the AI's detail here.

It was just a guess, sometimes there's errors in the GEN file preventing mods from working in specific detail levels.

Can anyone get Rot Teufel on this, considering he's the TCL guy?

The 1st errors you posted can be fixed easily enough, there's clearly an error in the genstring for that particular car. You need to determine what slot of the genstring is used for the LF wheel and change the "M" to a value that works. Is the another skin for the car that doesn't display the same error? If so you could use whatever style wheels it uses.

I had the same problem with the '37 G.P. mod most recently, but others have done it as well. This might help.

Delete the mod folder in vehicles.

re-install the mod then all the patches in order.

Some times things get miss placed or not over written properly. It takes time. You might have to do a one step at a time thing to find out where the error is.

re-install the mod, make sure every loads in game.

Add patches one at a time and make sure everything loads in game with each install.

Long a tedious I know, but some times you have to do the leg work yourself.

No, they're all broken.

in the veh file of the Starion shown in your first photo #66 Kevin Bartlett, my VEH file shows this:

GenString=11013
DefaultLivery="TCL85a66.dds"

HDVehicle=STARION.hdv
Graphics=STARION.gen
Spinner=STARION.gen
Cameras=TCL.cam // Defaults to cams.cfg in UserData directory
Sounds=STARION.sfx
HeadPhysics=TCL_HeadPhysics.ini // Affects driver eyepoint only
Cockpit=STARIONcockpitinfo.ini
Upgrades=STARION_Upgrades.ini

what does the final number in your genstring line show?

have you tried
GenString=11013

there was an update for this car by Rot in 2016, perhaps yours is the earlier car.

I tried changing the GenString and rFactor wouldn't run. I then tried downloading the skinpack and rFactor STILL wouldn't run.

Well now I have another problem: rFactor won't run. I click play in Steam, the cursor waits for a few seconds, and nothing happens. Can anyone help me?

When a program just doesn't run it is usually one of three things:

- corrupt or missing registry entries
- corrupt or missing files
- system security (windows itself or AV software) is blocking the program

In the first two cases reinstalling the program is the easiest solution; but if it's a security issue it will take a bit of detective work to find what is blocking the program and, more importantly, why.

I've tried reinstalling the game but it still won't run.
