Default Is old faithful Srmz gone?

Just did a real good 65 race with GPL ay Zandfort and jumped to Srmz to see if anything was new. Could not find the site at all. Is is gone . I see some familiar names here for my other new Steam games and wondered if you all have kept up on GPL?

I wish there was a place like NoGrip or RaceDepartment with GPL support, and that some SRMZ people weren't so stubborn about uploading content elsewhere.

SRMZ has all the GPL support you could need. Reticence to upload elsewhere possibly stems from the many times their work has been used without permission; and possibly because GPL is a niche market within a niche market ...how many sites would want to devote their bandwidth to host 500 tracks for a group as comparatively small as GPL fans.

And how many modders for other sims upload exclusively to some relatively obscure French or German site then post links in threads at NoGrip (so we must go register at a site we cannot even read just to download one file).

If SRMZ had a upload and download system like here, it would already be a great advancement.

SRMZ is up and running now.

"If SRMZ had a upload and download system like here, it would already be a great advancement."

Lol, I say that every time I'm linked to one of those European sites where you must read through a twenty page thread hoping to find a valid link to some mod.

I see no problem with the download at SRMZ? You can download as much as want in one day for free. Can you say that about this site?

SRMZ is great except for how files are uploaded. It's a mess.

At least all tracks are alphabetically listed at the database, along with updates, loading screens, and setups. And files in the threads always have links in the first post. Still better than many of those European sites.

I don't understand it is a mess? It all seems easy enough to me. It might be confusing to some, because it has so much to download, but that just shows how much it's been improved.

You also have GPL Links which has most all of it.

I've been having trouble accessing the forums at SRMZ for the last two days. I can access the front page, and open some links, but when I go deeper, I get the following error message:

" There appears to be an error with the database.
If you are seeing this page, it means there was a problem communicating with our database. Sometimes this error is temporary and will go away when you refresh the page. Sometimes the error will need to be fixed by an administrator before the site will become accessible again."

I can see that others are online, and replies to forum subjects continue to increase.

Unfortunately, I have no way of contacting an administrator, so I'm not sure if it's a problem on my end or theirs.

Any others with this problem?

I get that too. I don't see any changes in the threads and it shows me online. I think that page is frozen from when the problem started. We have to wait it out and see what happens.

I managed to get one page deeper this morning, but that's it. I still can't get deep enough to post.

It's an issue with in the forum coding itself, I;m sure they're not going anywhere.

It was a HD crash. It's being worked on now by Bill.

Here...last two pages of first thread.
