Default Detroit Belle Isle 2017 for rFactor by Enders

Hi guys !

Detroit Belle Isle 2017 is out !

I made this Indycar track from scratch using photos and videos of the 2017 event. Terrain created using Google Earth and Google Street View.

I allow conversions to any game, with credit information.

v1.2 released !

Remove v1.1 before installing v1.2.

- Fixed : Start/finish line not crossing the pitlane
- Fixed : Incorrect fuel consumption calculation
- Added a 44-car GT version of the track, with modified grid, pitlane and garage spots
- New track menu images

Beautiful achievement

Thank you for sharing

One small complaint! injury for the AIW to a maximum of 22 cars, the best for our Games and a minimum of 36 cars.

Hi,

I made a conversion start in Gtr2, at first for personal use! and it works well, but you still need to do some tuning, and some corrections of the AIW.
This is a beautiful achievement, and yes deserves to be in Gtr2, and also in our other games.

Some AIs can go through the walls... also the AIW need a bit of corrections. I would like to see more bumps thou But already great job!

Hi guys,
Thank you for your feedbacks. I am glad you like this rF track. As you say, the AIW needs improvements:
- AI and player are not crossing the start/finish line in the pitlane
- AI is not enough close to the apex at turn 2 and 7(back straight's long right turn)
- AI is too slow at the last 4 turns
I am fixing this and will post an update.
I don't know why the AI go through walls. Has someone an idea ? I properly set track/non-track limits in the AIW.
For the car number limit, I set 22 because of Indycar : 22 cars and 1 pit location for each car (22 pit locations max on this track). And I wanted the pit locations to be also garage locations so all cars are always visible and not hidden behind the pitlane's grandstand.
I am going to make an alternative 44-car AIW version (1 team/2 cars on each pit location) but I need to put the 44 garage locations behind the grandstand, thus I will have to work on alternative pit driving lines so the cars can join the track properly. I will work on this very soon.

@Guimengo I didn't use any GPS data, only Google Earth and Google Street View.
@NeelJ Thank you for your feedback and for the GTR2 conversion work.
@AxelP500 Maybe I could add a few bumps. Let me watch the race video again and see if there are some, like the ones that already exist on the bridges at turn 2 and 6.. Meanwhile, you can feel miscellaneous all-track bumps if you drive in cockpit view.

I mean by AI going through the wall, they don't hit the wall as if there's no wall there

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your feedbacks on the v1.1.
v1.2 released !

- I kept the original Indycar 22-car version and added a 44-car GT version with modified pitlane, grid and garage spots.
- I made a few modifications to the AIW files and fixed the start/finish line error (it was not crossing the pitlane).
- Updated Readme file and track menu images.

>>> Indycar version :
Indycar pitlane / max. 22 cars / rolling start with 2 lanes

>>> GT version :
GT pitlane / max. 44 cars / standing start with 3 lanes

first of all, congrats for your work. I tried to convert this track to automobilista 1.5 with rfactortools, it works except for the road which is very white! any suggestion to help?

Edit the .scn file like that. Line 43.

Light=Direct00
{
Type=Directional Color=(220, 220, 220) Dir=(0.5, -0.9, 0.5) Intensity=(0.80)
}

this let the white areas be less bright, looks good for me.
