Default [POLL] The best mods for GTR2?

I thought that it might be a good idea to make a list of the 10 best mods for GTR2, based on what the community thinks. Hence, post here your top 5 mods for GTR2, and I'll make a top 10 out of it.

Note: please only vote for legitimate mods, i.e. no unauthorized rip-offs of other games or mods.

I actually thought of it as helping him to get input on his question from a community about 100x as large as GC For the benefit of the whole race sim community of course

you should have specifid also SKIN based mods or new model based mods too

there is also the diffrence between conversions from RF and scratch made ones for GTR2

As for my list in no paticular oder

- BPR MOD by Wildman_FR
- Audi Sportwagen Mod V.2
- GTL conversion by Scca
- Super GT (don't really like this GT500 cars (too wild for my taste)but clearly effort was put into it , SO Izokun don't kill me )
- British GT mod, IMO best Skin based mod
- LMRT Skin packs
- FIA GT 2005
- BMW M1 Procar, again a good conversion by Scca
- FM Civic

Mods that are expectod to be good or need updates to be good or awesome

- SCC
- Group 5 mod

My list:

- Everything about Prototypes (SCC+JPBS+AudiR15)
- SuperGT 300 and 500
- BPR Mod
- LMRT skinpacks
- GTL-GTR2 Mod

Plus there are some other "not so legal" mods, but I will not say which.

PnG shouldn't even count, as it is the best mod ever!

But I like the FIA GT 97
the street Lamborghini
the street Ferraris (f-40 and Enzo)
Caterham
and the beast C6-R!

edit: Forgot the Porsche Carrera Cup and the Supercup!

Same answer I recently gave at another forum:

P&G2
GTL-GTR2
scca1981's FM Civic mod
E30 mod
Nucleon's Mazda RX8
MMM V8 Supercars
Caterham mod
Mini Challenge
and though I'm not a modern F1 fan in any way, the F1 2008 mod.

Limiting it to the legal options, the mods I've had most fun with have been:
  1. perfectdark's prototypes mod(s) - the ALMS cars
  2. scca 1981's FM Civic mod - just heaps of fun
  3. wildmanfr's BPR mod - love those Lotuses

Oh and GTL-GTR2 because it dragged GTL into a moddable space and opened people's minds up to the whole cross game thing...

I haven't kept many GTR2 mods over time, so I might be short of places to fill. Nevertheless, I consider one great enough to fill the void.

Power&Glory (with no doubt, in my opinion, greatest mod created out of all sim platforms, along with the revision of GPL/mods and Targa Florio)
Murcielago 670-4SV By StreetSim (because it looks, feels and sounds right)
Audi R15 TDI (I am ever so excited whenever Le Mans happens)

The SuperGT500 mod + the SuperGT300 mod.

But taste is different (I´m a huge fan of this series since the early JGTC days)

2010 will be overly optimistic. We have problems with 1 car to fix and that has been a challenge more of time than skill. I have guys who can do it...they just can't keep at it consistantly. There are several other items I would like to address before release but beleive me...we have sat on this for too long. When the last two cars are ready for painting, the countdown will begin.

dh

btw...just completed a brand new Le Mans specific tire file today...My computer has been stable enough recently to do some long full stint tests. I can't wait for the complaining to start when somebody tries to take the LM field out to a normal track....the rubber will melt before the drivers figure out whats wrong....lol...

Where is the love for Group C? Nothing is more fun for me than driving a 956 or 962 on any circuit, but especially the older versions of the classics like Le Mans, Monza, Silverstone, Watkins Glen, Riverside, Road America, etc. My other faves are GP79, BMW Procar, the modern prototypes, WSGT, Mosler 427R, and the Lola/Aston.

My faves:

> Porsche Super Cup 2009

The Supercup mod is really excellent, but the PnG mod is pretty much in a league of its own, it's so good.

Might I submit Pikes Peak Hill Climb.

Very challengeing and try with a variety of cars. Has a Timer too.

I think you misinterpreted my comment. What I meant to say is, and I take blame for not being intelligible, P&G in relation to GTL feels like an evolution, same as GPLPS did for GPL.
Why did I mention Targa? Well, because it is a typical example of what a motorsport event was once(and what a great event that has been, they don't call it a myth for nothing), in that same spirit GTLW represent their cars.

Power&Glory (with no doubt, in my opinion, greatest mod created out of all sim platforms, along with the revision of GPL/mods and Targa Florio)

For me the best mod is the one that does not have some update every other week.

Tracks and mods updates are to the point of ridiculous these days, no incrementals anymore, like bandwidth and power usage is unlimited, talk about green. lol

People used to take time and attention to limited updates.

Now they get thrown out sometimes 2/3 versions in a week and are all full size.

I dont know about you all but I can not afford to continually downloaded 5 of everything.

Build better mods and tracks first time every time.
One update like VLM is okay...........

Their mod was huge by todays standards yet they had no problems bringing out incrementals.

I agree, especially since onereason I love GTR2 mods so much is that in general they're so much better done and polished than most of that for rFactor.

Were you vaguely referring to SGT mod? I do remember there was a release ever so often.
Without unjustified faultfinding or tending to derogate(well maybe, from its reputation ), there is a downside of all these versions and that is online mismatch.

That probably isn't enough of a propaganda to convince you all P&G is the best , it seems SGT wins, for now, by the look of all comments.

I have sunalp's Group C mod and like it a lot, but I found another one today that has many more cars, including Mazdas, Jags, Mercedes, Peugeots, Toyotas, etc. I have not been able to get it to work yet, and many of the cars do not appear. Are any of you familiar with this mod, have it running, and can offer some help? Thanks.

It's very tantalizing. It features virtually every car that competed in that era in IMSA and in Europe. Everything from AAR Toyotas to Peugeot 905's to Saubers, Mercedes, Mazdas, Group 44 and Silk Cut Jags, etc. It's too bad it doesn't work. I'd probably never leave home again.
