Default upgrade path for wheel | pedals | H shifter ?

I am using at the moment still a Logitech G25.
As I am getting again more serious about sim racing, I look for improvements.

The options, I am looking at are:

Frex components and

Fanatec components.

The ideal combination in my view would be:

Fanatec CSR Elite wheel,
Fanatec CSR Elite pedals,
Frex H-Shifter
Frex Handbrake

The main issue at the moment is, to get my hands on the Fanatec components (delivery to my current place looks difficult).

I have read elsewhere, that the Frex components are completely compatible with the Fanatec CSR Elite wheel base - is this correct?

Can I upgrade the Logitech G25 H-shifter with a Frex unit + Handbrake now, making it completely work with the G25 wheel for GT5 on the PS3 and racing sims for PC and use the Frex components later on the Fanatec wheel base?

Are the Frex components plug and play with the Fanatec wheelbase or is a hackjob required, as with the G25, soldering wires to the internal PCB?

Are the Frex pedal sets with load cell compatible with the Fanatec CSR Elite wheelbase? This is, what I would prefer actually over the Fanatec component.

I would then proceed, to later add the Fanatec components, after I find a way, to import them.

You can either connect it to the internals of the G25/G27 or use a stand-alone USB controller. With that, the answer to your question is yes.

As for the pedals, look at the Nixim mod:

I did all three pedals and it's like an entirely different pedal set. They'll need to be hard mounted or have someway of preventing them of moving as the brake effort will be much more increased.

Thanks for the info!
I have also asked Shige from Frex GP about this and he answered promptly and precise.

I have ordered a H-shifter and handbrake for connection to the G25 PCB and will see, how this works out.

Unfortunately Fanatec doesn't deliver to my current place. I will see, how I can obtain one of their wheels.

Thanks for linking to the G25 pedal mod - I completely forgot about that possibility and will now rather look into modifying my pedals, properly re-mounting them and changing springs and pots for better components.

As I would have to fiddle with the Fanatec pedals also, to fit them into the cockpit, I rather use, what I have as a base now and refine it from there.

Looking at the pricing of the Frex FFB wheel and Frex pedal set though, these components are no option.
I am looking forward, how the Frex shifter and handbrake turns out - Shige seems to built on order, including some waiting time I guess.
