Neate gets 3 points on his license and a fine for Race 1 incident but nothing for the race 2 carnage as his car was deemed to be out of control when it rejoined the track.

You could argue with him behind the wheel it is generally always out of control!

in 2010 Neal finished 2nd and won in 2011
in 2011 Shedden finished 2nd and won in 2012
and in 2012 Neal finished 2nd and ? in 2013
If you know what I mean?

Neate got off very lightly there. The stewards explanation makes no sense either. They said that they couldn't punish him further because he was out of control. Well, perhaps if he wasn't flooring the throttle on the grass when re-joining he would have been more in control of his car. I'm sorry, its just a total bonehead move. Unless there is some piece of info that is not being released to us (ie he had a car problem) it just looks like a totally idiotic move.

Leaves track, car gets a little sideways on grass but straightens up, he then floors the throttle, comes back onto the track, out of control and wacks the side of Morgan's car. Neate's fault.

He deserves a ban for that in my view, really can't get my head around that decision.

maybe TOCA is afraid to bann Neate cos his departure could mean that MG folds too without his money...

Whilst I understand your thinking, that should never be a consideration for a serious governing body. Safety should always come first, what if that shunt had injured a marshall or some spectators? What about the damage that the other teams suffered? Is that Toyota a right off?

In any case, I doubt that a 1-2 race ban would mean Neate not competing in the season, I doubt it would "scupper" their deal as it were.

The man's a menace, and he needs to be stopped.

The majority of the money is from Plato, he's bringing the Tesco sponsorship with him. And now the cars are built, the biggest expence has gone.
There must be something that is keeping Neate there, mabee he has a multi year contract that they can't wangle out of.
But i don't think for a minute that they need him, or that they couldn't find another pay driver willing to pay to drive for MG.
The majority of the grid are pay drivers, if they thought there was a seat at MG given how quick that car has been (at least in the dry) they would have more than a few offers.

Reading John Thorne's blog makes me hope that they are on the grid even more next year. John has made no secret that this year has been a struggle for them but I don't think very many people (me included) realised that it was quite that bad.

+1. He'd said there was some changing of the design of parts, but having to re-design the whole front end as the front sub frames had been changed so much looked as though it was a real budget killer. But at the same time it does explain to us why the cars bieng built were so expencive. And at least it won't be the norm now that the parts are set.

But there's still no question he took too much on at once. He went out and bought all the parts for 2 cars when he should have really got one built and working first.
That being said, it's great he's made good. The effort they've put in has been amazing and thier speed at Snetterton was really quite exciting to see on the day given their troubles.
It's great they've come out the other side and are looking at a joining next year with 3 good sponsors backing them.
I do hope they have some success
