But are the 2012 teams and cars going to be made available to people not taking part in V-WTCC?

Well at least it's a freebie.
Can't say I'm all that interested though, I stand no chance of being any good. One for the aliens methinks. But I really do wish SimBin would stop wasting their time with gimmicks like this and just get on with GTR3 and get it out!! |

Well, I don't have WTCC2010 and STCC2, so I'd like to try Cruze.

I'm not too high on the "Onsite points are worth twice as much as points scored in the online events..." bit, since it's virtually impossible for me to get to any of the WTCC events and that would put me (and anyone else in the same situation) at a distinct disadvantage.

I have to agree with Tkrau. There isn't any event in the UK for a start.
I would hope that, once some final regs are drawn up, it won't matter if your at Algarve or Antarctica. |

Oh - OK, one event, then (theoretically). Still...

I would be surprised if they have modelled new tracks. They would have needed to create;
Slovakia Ring Hungaroring Salzburgring Sears Point Suzuka Shanghi I just can't see them doing all that for a freebie game...? |

As I read, it's a hotlap competition. If you are into that- go for it. IMHO the real skill and fun of a racing game is RACING not just driving fast. If this comes with the 2012 model cars and the new tracks, I can add the AI and I'll be all over this. Press release I read makes it sound like it'll be a browser based game though.

From what I read is that V-WTCC 2012 will be totaly free racing game like RaceRoom The Game. But will it include single player mode(for your own enjoyment), custom skin support(like Volvo The Game) and more importantly - can mods be put in the game(this IMO will be highly unlikely, but hey we have RACE07+DLC)?
According to RR site the first part will be released in April/May 2012, which means that the game will be released right after the race in Slovakia and before the Hungary rounds. Last edited by ivaneurope; 15 March 12 at 10:58. |

They did all layouts of Hockenheim for the free RaceRoom game and Chayka for Volvo the game, so why not to do and the other tracks that you mentioned. Besides, if the game uses mod support, others will make them.

Of course the new tracks will be in the game , but although its only a hot lapper its very good for the relationship between the FIA, eurosport and SimBin for future license.

SimBin didn't even use their (actually much better) RACE Pro Brands Hatch track model for the PC RACE On pack, and that was something we had to pay for. So the notion of them just "giving away" tracks when they wouldn't replace that dog turd of a track model that is "Brands Hatch 2007" with something already half produced, is beyond me.

I'm actually glad this has been cancelled, stop with the hotlap competitions and start with the GTR3!
