Well I had my first crack at the big league in the V8 last night!
What a blast!
I finally dialed in a good baseline setup for this thing, and it translated (after a lot of realization that driving style has to turn into tippy-toe 10% throttle 90% of the time!!) to total and utter enjoyment as soon as my times became competitive!
You guys have known I've always wanted to get into the V8's, but the main problem is it ruins you for literally everything else, and is very unique, you need to practice a lot. I jumped back into the Ford GT and I couldn't get within 0.5 after 30mins of practice!
So, given how much I'm loving the V8 - (practiced most days last week, for a long time, in hugely populated sessions) - I think I will run this and this only for a little while - I'd really like to step up and be a regular top-10 runner in the main race. 13th on debut out of 25 was a nice feeling!
Also - the last qualifying before the hot-split race & obviously the hot-split race are broadcast live and then uploaded to youtube that day! v8sonline.com.au - v8sonline is the YT channel too.
Fantastic stuff - nothing like watching races you were in
So anyway - I'm reinvigorated basically (not that I was bored though) - loving this thing.
It's also incredibly nice to be able to race and practice with people in the afternoon/evening/night - after my whole iRacing career being centered around late-night/morning/midday to get into Euro slots for GT's and US slots for Oval.
