Well I didn't see a Pre chat thread so I thought I'd post this here. This is the setup I used to do a 1:28.6/7 hotlap on Adelaide. The car is very hard to drive but I think later on the throttle than with other cars helps this beast a lot. Understeer like hell, but with my driving style and setup I find it very stable. One thing though, its still easy to spin it when in 1st gear and very low speed.
On the other hand, in 2nd gear the car just flies away with no wheelspin or anything. Brakes are okay and turn in ain't too bad So if anyone is struggling with this car try my setup and tell me if its good PS Race setup included but I didn't test it so tell me if its good ![]() EDIT: This was done on Open Practice off line but I did do a similar time on Gupster's server. I'll try on NG server 2nite Last edited by lowndes888; 6 June 07 at 10:45. |

Had the black 360 Modena and although it gave me a quick time i maybe going Yellow Racing seemed lucky for me today
Final decision on colour will be nearer race day

I found this track very difficult to hook up in at first, i'm slowly getting there now, hopefully with some more practice i can get a decent pace going. Car choice is again very hard and the kerb's, especially through the first chicane, can send the car flying away all to easily. Maybe this will be a race of attrition? Lot's of walls and kerbs to throw us off and wreck the car.

I'm driving my yellow 360 GTC, was going to go with a Modena for the extra reliability and lower fuel usage, but decided to risk the GTC.
My best lap yet is a 1:34 on race fuel, but that will a horrible setup. I can't get the front to turn in. I've no intention of doing much practice this week though, If I put days of practice in i just seem to get slower after the first few hours.

Guys i just tried a practice race, set the game to x3 tyre's, x2 fuel, time scaled failure etc, and set the race distance "time" in the options menu. Set the race to a length of 1hr01 min (closest to 1hr...) and got going. I got to lap 26 and it said the race was finished?!?]
Have i missed somthing important in the race setup screens or is this going to a problem come saturday night? Sorry if it's me just being a bit thick! |

With regards to car choice I'm gonna take a GT3-RS, handles so beautifully round this track. best I've done so far is 1.35 in race trim. 5 secs slower than the GT2 but I imagine the race will be full of them so gotta be different! |

Race is set to 39 laps already.
Another way to make it work on your own server is set the time to 1:20, then it ends at 1:00 |

Tried a practice race against the AI, and man they are dumb... they keep crashing at T7 into the wall, and when you lap them they block and drive around you
had 2 days off work ill so at least i've had time to get my setup done and car choice made before the usual friday night rush.Should be a good race, the Gt2 is predictably the fastest car but is definately a 2 stopper (even for ezza ) so the rsr and 360 may make more sense, after all at pitstops stuff always seems to go wrong. The bi turbo is the car i havent really driven much, it seemed to be about middle in terms of pace and fuel consumption between the gt2 and the ngt's, but i don't like its handling much.

39 Laps.
I practiced like hell this week. My wife was always complaining..... hehe Porsche GT2 OK, with the GT2 that would mean 2 pits stops minimum. 100l for about 16 laps only. With Hard slicks, I seem to get an lap times between 1.31 and 1.32 My personal best: 1.29.969 (yesterday) qualifying time. Ferrari 360 GTC Fuel usage is a lot lower = 29 laps for 100l So 1 pit stop will be enough Lap times are higher though. Still need to test a full tank ( or about 20 laps ) These are of course my personal findings. I hope I'm a little bit close to reality. JH |

Thanks JHoeckman for giving the fuel useage break-down for us,especially me,i always seem to end up driving a fuel tanker around every race, one of these weeks i will work it all out and put in just enough fuel for the race :p.

No problem Mc Danger.
I simply have 2 days off this week, so I have some time to practice race settings and strategy. I'm still not sure which car to choose though, the GT2 or the 360GTC Using the GT2 would probably mean driving 1 pit faster than the 360 = about 1 minute faster ( 75% of a lap ahead ). I will test the 360 Race setup maybe tonight or tomorrow morning. I will post my findings here. JH. |

Don't forget this race is x2 fuel usage but x3 tyre wear.
I'm using the GTR-RS and fuel seems like almost a secondary issue compared to tyre wear at the moment. i.e tyre grip/temp/wear seems more important with regard to choosing how many times to stop in the race compared to fuel usage. Perhaps that isn't so much a factor with the faster cars though that burn lots more fuel? I don't know I haven't tested them. I got down to mid 1.33's race pace but that was with soft fronts, which I don't think would allow me to one stop, Doh! Back to the drawing board! |

Can't speak for the RS, but the Fezza 360 GTC will do a 1 stopper fairly easily. Fuel isn't an issue... and the tyres just about hold out for 20 laps (med/hard).
I suspect the Biturbo will beat the 360 though, as it can also 1 stop and is maybe a bit faster. The Porsche GT2 may well beat both, even 2 stopping, since it's significantly faster. My money is backing this pony |

I got back into the late 28's offline today in the GT2. I agree with GearChange that this will be a race of attrition as in my practice sessions I have found it is very easy to clip the wall out of turns 3 and 8 and easily puncture a rear tyre.
As for race strategy it will be a two stopper for the GT2's everything else looks like a one stopper. |

I was really looking forward to this race, until my GPU died. I've a new GPU now, so i will be back next week. Well, good luck and show me some good racing. I'm going to check the replay
