I can tell you what has changed, but not how. The gtr.mnu(not sure if this is correct, at work, and can't check) file has been altered. I do know that the old F1 mod (v.98) by perfectdark changed mine, and created the same exact problem...a black screen immediately following the legal screen. Here is how I fixed mine. I first renamed my GTR2 folder to GTR2 MODS. Then I re-inserted my disk and re-installed the game to it's default location (c:/GTR2) Then I copied that file over to my mod install and bingo!
I also decided to keep the second install for online league racing, as it was clean and bone stock, and starts a lot faster too~! Keep in mind that the internet user name and PW are exactly the same, and if you want, you can copy your userdata folder, which will import your user name and car settings to your stock game. Or you can delete this new install if space is a problem....Oh and renaming the GTR2 folder will impact your shortcut...LOL

I will verify the file name and path at 8pm EST USA time.

The GRB is in the Acura folder, and I have another install that is identical, and with the same race selected, I got no CTD, but I saw one intance of the setup.cpp 1194: Could not find ARX.GRB) error. Maybe the second install didn't select as many Acuras for the race?

The ARX.hdc designates the particular ARX.grb file the car uses. Not the .cas file.

Okay I just found your problem...strange that no one else has complained about this. The # 20 spyder is using the wrong HDC for one thing. In the car file it is using the HDVehicle=Porsche RS Spyder 2007.hdc, when it should be using the porsche Spyder ALMS07 HDC.


Since it is using the wrong hdc this is what it finds:
GearFile=ARX.grb // Must come before final/reverse/gear settings!
GearFile=PORSCHE_SPYDER.grb // Must come before final/reverse/gear settings!
FinalDriveSetting=1 // indexed into GearFile list
ReverseSetting=1

that whole line in bold needs to be removed, or just change the HDC line in the .car file to match the #17 car. (easier and more correct)

Make sure your editing the shortcut on your desktop and not the actual exe that resides in your GTR2 main folder. A common mistake made by afew.

have an issue. I started with a load of a mod, then I lost all of my tach, speedo, analog and digital readouts in cockpit view. Now, my cars are stuck in the garages of tracks with pit garages, they act like they are floating and they look like the tires are in the floor.

No featuring insanely long load times.

It's the Porsche Alzen mod, don't know who made that one. I'll try to race it in practice mode. If it doesn't work then I'll delete the whole mod and install it again. Because it did work for me. But thanks for the quick answers!

Is there a list for the tracks needed for this mod? I dont see it in my install and I've gotten tired of wasting hours looking for one. My mod CTD's every time as soon as I hit start after selecting a track. Think a track list would be a high priority but apparently I'm not on the same wavelength as them..
