According to the Finnish tabloid iltalehti
the Finnish police stopped Räikkönen a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't because of overspeeding, but driving an overweight car or car combination, wich normally gives 14 day fines. Now Räikköen probably earns something around 5 million €. So that would be around 200 000 € in fines :OMG:
Normally the police gives our the fines on the place, but this was a hard case so it went further for investigation. A similar thing happened to Tommi Mäkinen a few years ago. But he managed to get away "cheap" when he didn't report any income in Finland, so he ended up paying 8600€.
The current world record is Jussi Salonoja's 170 000€ for overspeeding. He has complained about it and havent paid it yet though.
for the Finnish traffic fines system.
