Would be good to see you PG - at least for a few seconds off the start line. After that... drifto-bliss for you I imagine.
For a lot of other people, I think one tip it to try keeping these monster V8's pointing in a straight line with a very soft throttle foot. There's me giving tips even though I crashed out on Sunday at half distance.

Very valid tip Psy!
- soft throttle - when you ar ABSOLUTELY sure you'll make it FLOOR it to makle use of the power. - THEN combine the two and steer the car by throttle and suspension settings, both in entering and exiting corners. But before everything comes a secure feel of making the exit work, THEN figure out where you can brake. Pero will show you...

Great fun tonight - the second race with the Vette was really great - probably the most time sideways yet - most time side by side with Joel. On the end the tires were more like driving on the rims.
This track we have to do again |

Wow, after some connection issues in the first race, that second race was a lot of fun.
I think I got collected at the first corner, although I may have simply gotten a little too ambitious with the throttle - either way I slid all the way dawn the hill backwards, grinding along the armco.Sadly my replay file is 11 seconds of me sitting in the pits, so a full write-up will have to wait. |

I had a really good time racing today. I finished 6th in the first race, and my fastest lap in that race was a 1:59 flat. Then for race 2 I went out and set a 1:57.1 in qualifying which landed me in 9th for the race. And then during race 2 I was having a really good go at it, but then I had my computer freeze on two occasions in one lap which took me out of 7th. I was in front of Casper and behind Kongo when that happened. But it killed me, I went from 7th to last basically.
I hope to be there next Wednesday. |

The most fun I've had in GTL in ages. Race 1 I had agood dice with Watty, and race 2 with Pero and Goran. Lots of slidey sideways action

FIX Locate your PLR file in : C:\Program Files\GTL\UserData\<your profile name>\<your profile name>.PLR and edit with Notepad. Locate "Replays Dated" and set like this: Replays Dated="1" // Replays have date in filename You end up with a lot of replays, but you don't have to worry about losing the good ones. |

^^^ But then you end up with loads of replays from every single event or practice you do. All I do to save a race replay is either -
1. Make sure I leave the race before it clicks onto the next event or 2. If it's already jumped to the next race then I alt-tab out of the game, go into windows explorer and rename the last saved replay. Usually it's St Jovite.vcr, or whatever track it is, and I rename it to usually add the date after the track name. This does the same as Psy's method but because it's you doing it and not the computer you only save the ones you want, not everything. |

True...
Lemme see... oh, my "ReplayData" folder has 1,408 replays totalling 3.6Gb. But I know that the only ones I care about are the ones which I've renamed and prefixed "NoGrip" or "psyFungi" so I could delete the rest any time. In fact, might do that right now. Nah, later. |

Reminder to myself: hit <TAB> before go! (Got relatively good start but f***ed it up by making other players' names visible...
)Reminder 2: hit <ENTER>, NOT <ESC> if you want the pit crew to do their work! (went to pits for repairs - forced myself a DNF... )

Race one, I managed to secure a seventh on grid which transfered into last place just after the Lucas bridge, as I slid off to the right under braking. Gah!!
Using the "stay on track" technique, I managed to move through the field into sixth place and had just got Watty and Joel in sight when my red Connection Lost message appeared at the top of the screen. Frustration reigned supreme in that moment... Race two and seventh on grid again which, again, transfered into last place just after the Lucas bridge, as I slid off to the right under braking. It's all about consistency, baby. Incidentally, another amazing start from Roger, truly awesome! For this race I altered my technique to "go off track whenever and however possible". This didn't work quite so well as "stay on track". Apologies for taps, collisions and full-on wipe-outs go to tminus3 and Kimi (multiple times!). Actually, the first half of the race wasn't so bad, I made it up to seventh from fifteenth and was chasing down Kongo when I kicked the gears down to first rather than second for the second gear right-hander. BIG mistake. That was the start of my big woes. With Kongo's hysterical laughter in my ears, I set off to catch up again... Next lap I did my Lucas Bridge slide AGAIN, lost control and wiped out Kimi right royally. Major apologies for that one Kimi, I just completely lost it. ![]() After that collision, it was banana Cobra which was a mad handful. The race from there on in seemed to be a selection of passing psyFungi in the sand, going off road, watching psy go by, passing Kimi in the sand, going off road, watching Kimi go by, passing psy in the sand, going off road, watching psy go by,..... Until the last few laps where psyFungi and I almost kind of were actually racing each other, still with plentiful offs! Anyways, tenth at the end, but an appallingly driven race!

Ha..........a pretty sorry race for me, but there ya go. I hadn't raced Sunday, nor practicsed that track beyond a few laps to figure out where it went.
The 'Vette was the car of choice - a bit of a handful suspension wise, but basically (IMHO) a decently balanced car. Qually - was (not surprisingly) nowhere near the potential of these cars - hats of to the usual suspects for showing how it's done  A decent start hauled me up into P3 (I think) ![]() But really it was a case of "how long will I keep people behind" type driving. After a few laps pressure (sorry I missed who you were ) - I yielded 3rd with a mistake (but sonner or later you were coming through anyway ![]() 4th was a long and lonely run........until concentration failed me and I shot off the road. That let at least one past...............looking in my mirrors to find Kongo was next up, I forgot the next corner was looming and went off again ![]() After that - it was a struggle to even get to the line; concentration was shot and the tyres even more so................... Not a bad old girl the 'Vette

I do like the option with the dates and 'always save replay' because I've missed replays in the past many times because I was still chatting or catching my breath or having a laugh on coms. For me it's nice not to worry about the replay at that moment. When I go out of the session though I go to replays and quickly change the name to for instance; Donington N (shortened becasue of lack of room for characters) NG GTC65 (or car name like 'Fer' for single make) 4th (result) Then I delete the other replays of that day. If I'm not sure about a race hot lap, it coud be a PB, I leave it there and have a look in GTL later. Of course I forget to delete some replays but once in a while I go through the replay folder to see which have no personal tag and delete them. It surprised me how nice it is to see a replay from a year ago, back in the days....aaaaahh.:roflmao: Caspar. |
