Hello,
This is my first posting on the Forum so hello, As for comments? Well i will be polite but its the sign of the times my friend, the people who run these TV stations have no idea what the punters like to see any more, it seems that they are not interested at all, i am suprised really as i would have thought with the revenue that can be made with advertising these days they would jump at the chance of showing races though out the year. I am retired so i'm Old!lol but i can remember when an event like this at Spa would have been one of the Classic events of the year like the Le Mans/ Monte Carlo etc , i of course would not expect full coverage of a 24hr event but the start and finish and say an update every couple of hours would would be great i would say, Who knows perhaps one day it might happen! Regards, Roger. |

You don't list your location so I have no idea where you live. I believe most of the race, or at least a good portion of it, was televised in the UK and other parts of Europe. I can only comment on why this event was not televised in the US: Money. There simply isn't enough interest in this type of racing to generate more advertising revenue than the infomercials or trashy TV shows that Speed TV now broadcasts. I don't think things will change anytime soon, if ever...unless the perhaps the network is flooded with tons of emails... I just can't believe there wasn't SOME type of live streaming media, via video or Radio LeMans, for this race. Unbelievable. |

Hi Petty,
Thanks for the Welcome, No as far as i could see there was not any coverage of the race at all here in the UK on TV, all my information on the race came from my PC on the FIA site. There are some short programs showing the Spa 24hr race coming in August/September on Fox News i see on the FIA site. Cheers, |

I can almost understand why no interest, just look at the grids for FIA GT or mainly the SPA 24h, Barely any GT1 cars, just MC12's and Corvettes in the top finishes at SPA.
From what I can tell is that normal FIA GT events only have DBR9's, 3 Vettes 2 which are C6 and then MC12's. No more Saleens or F550's. GT2 = F430's and 997 RSR's. Basically the FIA GT is not so varied as other GT series. I do like the FIA GT but the lack of interest in it may be because of the grids. I think the SPA 24H was not as good as last year's. |

you could always see the race via torrent. I hate speed chan. At least they still show 24 hrs LeMans,Moto-gp,ama,f1,and some ALMS.Not only would there be a lack of advertising, most americans couldnt sit there that long and appreciate whats going on.

If you guys already know the outcome, how can you watch a torrent of it?
I mean I record sports all the time on my DVR and play it back the next day, But I don't know who won when I'm watching it.

I knew who won the German GP last week and still watched a recoreded one the next day as I missed it. It does take some of the excitement away, but I like racing and mostly watch to see the cars race not cross the finnish line, win and lose.
