The purpose of GTR2_Verifier is to verify the file integrity of the GTR2 and the Power&Glory (P&G) mod. Supports GTR2 v1.1 (EN,FR,SP,DE,IT) and P&G mod v1.02, v2.00 and v2.1.

Please if you don't understant the results or they look much worse than they should ask about it. There might even be something wrong with the proggie.. I probably want to see the log plus some basic info about your operating system, admin/user rights, languages used and such

I used this tool a few weeks ago and both my GTR2 setups (original and P & G) stopped loading. I had to delete and re-install both sims to get going again.

lol.. I'm sorry to hear that.. but seriously you don't believe Verifier had anything to do with that ..?? Verifier just READS stuff, it won't change/remove/add any of the GTR2/PnG files. Hmm.. unless you put the Verifier in to the run mode and then you rushed to start both games (1st GTR2 and then PnG with almost perfect timing, so it would result in some locked critical files?). But I don't think nobody would do that. Or even would be able to.

According to your previus post, can you assure that GTR2_Verifier.exe do not "lock critical files"?
I mean, if it reads the "opened" file's data, as soon as loaded, that GTR2_Verifier.exe closes it?

I'll try to explain more. (I'm sorry I don't speak English natively so bear that in mind

)

The Verifier program is supposed to be run when GTR2 is NOT running. This is not something that needs to be running all the time in the backgroung or something. I just tried to make a simple tool that could display some of the problematic "hacks" that some downloads incorporates (of course identifying the source of the changed files is another problem..)

When Verifier has finished reading/checking, there are no more limitations for the GTR2 files. Btw Verifier reads files in read-only mode (if you're a programmer you know what I'm talking about), so only WRITES are locked out for the file being processed. But as I don't know how GTR2 has been programmed, I can't be sure if GTR2 will open files in read-write mode even if only reading data, there could be problems IF they are running both at the same time. I don't see any reasons why somebody even would like to do that.

This is basically a very simple, read-only program, no trickery nor black magic involved.
