That was expected. He had been considering for it for a year or so. I think it's better for him to step back while he's still on the top rather than stick around like poop on a carpet until he's an old fart with no dignity left.

Besides, he's managed to keep Sebastian Loeb behind him every time in the Neste Oil Rally in Finland so far, so why risk a flawless victory streak anymore?

(And no, year 2003 doesn't count since Grönholm didn't finish due to a mechanical failure while leading the rally!
