I'm confused. That picture of Surfers Paradise above doesn't seem to match any part of the track that I remember from last year's F1 Venue Championship race.......
Oh, and Markus Jung qualified in pole position last year with a time of 2:04.514 in the Lotus Cortina. |

Hehe, well Marcus is a fast guy, but I'm thinking he had more than 15 minutes to learn the track and change the setup a bit..... ![]() ![]() And I think that is the final turn onto the start finish staright in the picture Mogg. |

Maybe it just looks more of a curve from that angle than I remember it. Since my Mustang was never flying that high during the race, it's difficult to judge

I got a little bit of a chance to be there for race 2. Going to be in the NSU if I make it.

Bugger. CTD during start countdown.
Oh well, hope there wasn't too much carnage. Can't make Race 2, but have fun. Next week is Capri v BMW at Pace Park. That's a fun track. Hope to see a decent number of people finding the hidden pace the BMW has. |

Ok well that didn't quite go to plan! Glitch probs on race 1 forced me to sit it out and then I collected [NG]Zieman during an 'over-enthusiastic' passing manoeuvre on the double chicane, sorry Zieman. Oh well, I got the mini down to the 2’ 08’s so pretty happy for 2nd meeting of my first season.
Here’s looking forward to next week, I have a feeling it’s gonna be a good one Have a good week guys |

Just one race for me last night. Great fun with the NSU.
Didn't get a good qualifying lap in with numerous mistakes and a bit of traffic. But the race was great fun. Good start. Then a couple of laps hunting down Hans who unfortunately spun out. Then a great fight with Paolo for the rest of the race. At some point Daz in the lead killed his Mustang at that hairy chicane so the fight with Paolo was for the win. Grats to Paolo for great pace and a super race! Special grats also to Daz who was really flying in that Mustang. Thanks guys and see you next week!

Quallied on the second row for both races, but at the start of the first i got dumped into some void somewhere - don't know where i was, but it wasn't anywhere near the grid..
Second race i got to the grid ok, and got away from the line well, but then messed up by changing into 2nd gear too soon and Hans and Cale got ahead. After Daz crashed and Hans spun i was back up to P3, a couple of seconds behind Cale and Paulo. Saw i was actually gaining on them, but pushed too hard and spun. Then had a fiery end in the wall with a lap to go. Congrats to the winners, and to Paulo for amazing qually time in the NSU Pace Park will be easy after this.. |

Twisted sort of fun, wasn't it
.Surprised myself at how quickly the NSU was going in quali for race 1, although Paolo smashed my time later. Was a good race with Paolo for some time, but then he disappeared, so I strolled on home. Race 2 in the Stang for a laugh, but then that was faster than I thought it would be too, and I was 2nd on the grid. Good start, was comfortable in the lead, but killed the car by being too lazy in the chicane, silly boy. Watched Cale and Paolo scrapping though, and that was good fun See you next time, at a more forgiving track..... |

Sounds like it was the usual street-circuit situation. Those with a bit too much alcohol or adrenalin in the blood end up in the wall
![]() ![]() Pace Park should be a much more "accessible" and forgiving track. |
