Obviously, GTR2 is the best; I have Race07, and I'll not buy GTR-Evo; my computer suffers with Race, and I have to use it with low details; with the WTCC 2.0 in GTR2, I have the same cars, and I can use max details, create custom championships, 24h races etc...(this is meant also for the other mods)
I hope the community will not leave GTR2 for Evo. P.S. Is she your wife? congratulations

I own GTR 2, Evo and Race07 and I have to say hands down I prefer GTR 2 over them all. I feel so more in control of what the car is doing when I drive. Evo kind of makes me feel isolated, like driving an RC car, while GTR 2 is a little more direct and takes more skill to turn a decent lap.

Just buy them both and make your own conclusions. I happen to like them both. But for the money and the amount of mod's that are available, GTR2 win's hands down.
Heck, I've got GTR2002, GTR, GTR2, GTRevo....and all the EA stuff. Except for the Nasturd titles. Oh yea, I forgot rFactor. |

I believe it entirely depends on the kind of racing you want to do.....
If you want endurance racing you need to stick with GTR2 IMHO. If you want touring cars and shorter sprint style racing go with Race If you want a blend of GT and Touring etc with a couple of single seaters you need EVO , but be aware you cannot do super long distance endurace races sadly..........2hr max I believe. They are all cheap as chips, so price is not really entering the debate here. |

All 3 are great in my eye's. Spend most time offline in GTR 2, EVO online.

50 laps around Nordschleife will take anywhere from 6-9 hours depending on the car you use and your driving skills. |

I believe the time change more to do with real world regulations for FIA GT champ races. A standard length race used to be 3 hours as portrayed in GTR/GTR2, (pre 2005 seasons) then it was changed to 2 hours max in a bid to make it more TV audience friendly. as represented in GTR EVO. I agree that there should be options to set it as you like though.

GTR Evo and Race are virtually the same! Evo has the Race07 files included and offer a slight edge with a few options and a little optimizing. I would not have a computer without Evo.
That being said, I would not have a computer without GTR2 either ![]() Evo with Race )& and the STCC are a fantastic combination... and they're are many add-ons for this game including many many liveries. Also the GTR2-to-Evo mod is a great mod which brings all stock cars from GTR2 to Evo. For me, the price is a no brainer... at about 40US for Evo with Race07 and then STCC (STCC offers a great forced pit stop and super pole option I love) Evo also offers closer offline racing vs. the AI and the AI can be set to very high levels to challenge anyone IMHO with all assist off. |
