I have painted up my Viper skin for the Monday Night Racing League NAGT Tueasday Road Championship Series league but some thing is not quite write..??
My car is super shiny..And I cant seem to fix it. For some reason my DDS converter won't open the .psd file to convert.. So I saved it as a .TGA and it converts it' but very very shiny still... What are the dxt settings for BODY and WINDOW textures in rfactor? I have tried saving in every dxt setting with the same results...shiny.. Thanks for any help.. Here is the psd if someone wants to try fixing it up for me.. ![]() http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ywmuzejlvow Last edited by Fabby; 23 July 09 at 07:02. |

You need to initially have and save an alpha channel with your skin. I suspect the NAGT mod makes full use of the alpha channel to apply shine. The darker the alpha channel the less shine is applied. The GIMP is a good program for editing images and there are DDS plugins available for it. For all intents and purposes it is a completely free version Photoshop.

Hi fabby, I've written a small tutorial on how to lose this shiny look: http://www.nogripracing.com/details....r=21103&page=1
But I've also downloaded the file for you and corrected it so it shouldn't have the shiny look anymore. please find it attached. all you need to do is rename it to how you need it. |
